I was sick of forgetting the names of my best friends. I was sick of going downstairs and having no idea why. I was sick of watching a movie, going to my account on IMDB to type up a review and realizing I've already seen it and, worse, already written a review! I was sick of having to dig through the trash to find an envelope that was sent to me so I could remember my own address - especially since I lived in the same place for the last nine years!
That's not aging.

Senility is a sign of brain degeneration. There is always an underlying cause, and it's never age alone.

The reality is that humans are unique because we never stop learning and we are constantly becoming more in tune with the sights and sounds around us. Unless you suffer from a condition you will continue to get smarter until the day you die. If he was having a lot of memory problems, it's not out of bounds to assume whatever was effecting that was also impacting him emotionally.

Still, I can't blame him. Most neural degeneration is not treatable and tends to only snowball over time.

I'm trying to figure out if this is correct or one of the dumbest posts ever.

Just not sure.

He said he didn't want to die like others, but it seems like dying in a nursing home in his sleep would've been more enjoyable than blasting his brains out

**** dying in a nursing home. Seriously, **** that. I watched my grandmother slowly die in one of those goddamn places and now my aunt is dying in the same one. Makes my skin crawl to set foot in the place. I'll grease myself right after whoever tries to put me in one as long as I'm still able to pull a trigger.

I don't care that this guy offed himself. He just should have done it quietly.

I don't think dying in a nursing home would be that bad.

You're surrounded by your peers, fed, sheltered, have some form of entertainment.

Granted, I'd rather be old and living with family, but it's not a horrible option.

I hope to be old as **** and cursing whoever is our QB.

out of respect

I want to bump this but only out of respect. May Martin RIP. I apologize if this bothers CP readers so please feel free to skip this..... but Martin was a loyal Royals fan who wrote about them for the KC Star and I think it's very sad he missed out on what was to come for his favorite team:

There simply is nowhere as bad as Kansas City when it comes to professional sports. Unfortunately, of all the places I could live and all the allegiances I could have in sports, I happen to have started my blog and maintained it in about the worst possible time and place

The Royals are/were better in 2013 and the Chiefs are expected to be greatly improved. But, I’ve heard these songs before and they almost always (at least in the last 15 years or so), end on a flat note. Still, it would have been interesting to see how the Royals’ young players developed.

The greatest moment of my sports life was game #6 of the 1985 World Series.

That’s how pathetic things are around here from a professional sports point of view. I’m not going to miss more of the same… that’s for sure! But, then it's also true that someday that will turn around - and I will miss that!

You have to wonder if he loved the Royals that much, if he had known this was coming would it have made a difference on when he decided too off himself anyways. You'd have to assume he'd have put it off to 62.
