Football Will the Big X be left out of the playoff again this year? - Page 15

The Big X as we know has been hamstrung by not having a conference championship game and by only having 10 teams, and with Baylor's loss this weekend, the Big X now has only one undefeated team left - Oklahoma State, who is due to face two top 10 teams in the next two weeks.

Will the Big X be without an argument to put a team in the playoff again this season, when they end up with multiple 1-loss teams and no way to differentiate them?

Actually check that. Ohio State has the worst of all. Having yet to beat a ranked team. That must a misprint but regardless they get to finish the season with Michigan and Michigan State. Two decent wins but still worlds away from what Oklahoma can do.

How are Alabama's wins less impressive? OU's best wins are 1pt over TCU without their QB and WR and Baylor without their QB.

Regretfullly, comparisons like this don't work.

The OU of the TN and TX games is significantly different that the OU of today. They evolved. Offense is more run oriented; and the defense is much better.

This is why we have a playoff system...which needs to be expanded to 8 teams.

If you're going to give OU crap for betting a banged up TCU by a point, you should give them credit for winning that game w/o their QB in the 2nd half, and with getting both their top running backs banged up.

Knight may have played a world beating game vs. Bama a couple of years ago for the sugar bowl win; but he is far, far below Mayfield and the offense essentially ground to a halt with him instead of Baker.

Well, it all comes down today: Oklahoma wins, then they're in. Lose to Okie Lite and the Big 12 is left on the outside looking in once again.

While other leagues like Big 10 and SEC are getting set to play a conference championship game, which is a de-facto play in to the Playoff game, Okie Lite will have no higher level Big 12 team to play in a conference championship game to polish their resume for the Playoff committee.

Think Big 12 higher ups are gonna start re-thinking this CCG business??

(Guess it depends on whether OKlahoma wins or loses tonight)
