Even if DGB did not have the baggage, I'd rate him below Cooper, White, and Parker based on what I've seen on the field. Additionally, I don't see him being an outstanding fit with Alex Smith. He has difficulty throwing the ball in tight spots to Dwayne Bowe, and DGB would be a similar type of runner. He's not going to create chunks of immediate separation. I then add back in the baggage, and wonder if he's the next R. Jay Soward or Reggie Williams, or a modern Josh Gordon. Is he a guy that's going to get some money and go back to his ways? I mean, there is legitimate concern there. Is it all worth it? Who knows for sure. The kid could change and tear up the league. He could flame out. I don't see him as an outstanding fit in KC because, for one, he doesn't really fit the offense incredibly well (but it could work), and he would be close to the same group of people that helped him to get booted from Missouri in the first place. He might do well, but I'm not sure Kansas City is the place it needs to be experimented with. |

Take a shot in the 5th with Darren Waller. Slightly taller, slightly more explosive, and just as big as DGB without the baggage. I don't think he's as good of a WR though.

Agreed. I think he's a very good pass catcher, but he needs to learn to run the route tree and run it well. He has the tools and the hands. I'd much rather a chance on this kid later than a chance on DGB in round 1.

It's not Calvin Johnson speed like everyone is comparing him to. We still have Alex Smith throwing him the damn ball.

I'd be happy with Agholor or Dorsett in the 2nd and taking a guy like Waller later. That and picking up a solid FA WR would help fill this WR core out and set us up for the now and the future.

Both DGB and DeVante Parker are sitting there. Who do you go with?
