Used cars are so expensive right now. You can't get shit for under $5000 anymore, it seems. My first car (in 1980) was a six year old Gran Torino with 33,000 miles for $650. That's around $2800 in today's dollars. You can't find anything with fewer than 100K miles for that (though it could be argued a mid-'70s Ford with 33k miles is comparable to a newer car with higher miles).
My in-laws just traded their 2006 Accord EX with 215k miles for $2125. I wish I knew. I would have given them $3000 and could have easily sold it here for $4-5,000. Most of the miles were highway miles from their frequent trips around the US. |

I have looked at the used truck market and it is nuts. I wanted a basic low miles 2wd small pickup and everything I could find was crazy expensive. I ended up buying new cheaper than what I could find used.
