Alex Smith

How do you feel about him as your QB in this situation?

You do know that Smith has 1 goddamn pass over 20 yards this year right? The ****ing offense is stale unless Charles runs the ball or gets a dump off.

THAT'S ALEX SMITH.

That's bullshit. I can recall at least 2 that he completed week 1 of around 40 yards. They were to the other team, however.

I don't see many Chiefs games.

No QB would have been effective behind that porous offensive line tonight. Alex Smith is a good QB and a master of the short passing game when he has adequte pass protection. I'm not talking elite pass protection like Romo - just average. His pass protection was WELL below average tonight. If that has been typical this season, then no wonder your offense is so hamstrung.

According to Football Outsiders, the Chiefs offensive line was ranked #22 in the league going into tonight's game. That's poor. Not as poor as the 49ers 30th ranked pass protection, but poor.

KC is 10th in run blocking but only 22nd in pass protection. Keep running the ball.

You can't blame Alex if he has little to no time to throw. I did not see a sack I would blame him for. Every sack was on the Offensive line being offensive.

Not saying Alex is HOF material by a long shot, but this statement is truth. With the glaring weaknesses we have on our OL and receiving corps you can't really fault the average qb. Our pass blocking sucked ass. More plays than not Alex had not even completed his drop back and had defenders in his face. Run blocking was nothing to write home about either. Then add in a weak receiving corps and it exacerbates the issue even more.

But he still didn't win the SB and the next year he got replaced and that guy took the team to the SB.

I don't know, I just think that even if AS had Dez Bryant and Julio Jones on both sides they would probably average 50 catches and 1 TD\season. That last play were he runs out of bounds instead of throwing it typifies what kind of QB he is.

Being down by 14 right off the bat and playing from behind all game probably had some influence on playcalling. But yeah, got to somehow get our rbs involved more considering our weak pass protection.

Yeah, that is always the problem. You want to feature him every game. Sure the opposing DC will know it, but who cares. He is your best play maker. Ride him.

Makes no sense for Charles to see less than 25 touches a game.

You do know that Charles is pretty good at catching the ball right?

Afterall, he was KC's leading receiver last season.

Sure. Charles is arguably the best all purpose back in the league right now. I was kinda wondering why we did not have in extra blockers kinda like Denver did early on and run outside.

It's a tough combination of all 3 parts right now on offense.
The early game 20-yard completion to Fasano near the goal line in traffic was a thing of beauty and a thing Alex rarely did with the 49ers. He would usually demand more separation that that. That was a beautiful pass.
