There's Speeding...then there's SPEEDING
Sorry if a re-post. Dude clocked going over 200 mph in a Mustang in Oklahoma:
http://www.kmbc.com/article/man-arre...rnpike/8300966 The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a state trooper arrested a driver after clocking his speed at more than 200 mph. The patrol says Trooper Ryan Smith pulled over the man Saturday on the Kilpatrick Turnpike in Oklahoma City. Authorities say the man was driving a Ford Mustang and the trooper's radar clocked the car at 176 mph and then 208 mph. Authorities say the driver attempted to elude the state trooper -- turning off his headlights and brake lights at one point -- but he was eventually pulled over at a red light. The highway patrol says the driver stopped his car and dropped his keys out of the window. The highway patrol says the driver was arrested on complaints of reckless driving and felony eluding. |

I once had a guy at a bike night tell me, with straight face, his HD 2004 Softail Springer 'did' 180mph. I casually started asking questions about the motor. 96ci motor, with a stage 1 and cams. that's it.
Took all my energy not to laugh in his face. I asked when he did this and he said 'oh man, last weekend" and went on with some exaggerated tale. I looked at his front tire, it was bald and nearly showing signs of failure. I ended the conversation (knowing he was FOS), "Wow. just be glad your front tire didn't disintegrate". He then looked at me like "what do you mean"? Fasted I've ever personally been was 152mph (indicated) on my '08 CBR 600RR. that was plenty fast for me and never even came close to approaching that again. lol.

Once ran down Holmes with a HS buddy who had a hella 5.0. Passed a cop at 160, saw his lights blip on, twirl once, then off.

200+ MPH Mustang? Sounds like horse shit to me too. However, if it is true, that dude is going to have to pony up a LOT of cash.

My in motion radar is always acting weird. Never use it. It'll tell me a car coming at me is doing 160. Clearly they are doing 35-40mph. Haven't turned it on in weeks.

I'm sure his lawyer will argue the correctness of the radar gun. But even if he was only doing 150, that's still a heap of trouble, especially since he ran from the cops.

Yeah, I smell bull
Lets all chime in..."What is your fastest speed you have ever gone?" I am at 142 mph, and that was plenty fast for me on a motorcycle. |

Did 165mph in my lightly modded 2004 GTO 10 years ago heading home to Orlando from Daytona beach. That was the fastest I've ever been and will ever go. I am not a dumb 25 year old anymore.

I had my 89 IROC Z up about 125-130, had to shut her down because the wind was wrecking my mullet.

155 mph in a Dodge Stealth Twin Turbo. Hit the 140 mph mark in a few Dodge Vipers.
