Never had it, meatloaf sounds good now though. Not a huge ham guy, I like it on a sammich but straight up ham by it's self is a bit salty for my taste.

I'm not sure but I think I made ham loaf for the elders when I was a Dietary Aid back in '97 - I'll be honest i'm not a big meat-loaf fan, surprising (even to me) I know.

FMB Do you think making Ham loaf swim (sous vide) and then grilling it would make it better? I know burning the shit out of Spam sure helps it.

2.5 lbs of ham loaf (1.5 lb of pork steak and 1 lb of ham mixed)
1 C. Saltine cracker crumbs
1 C. Milk
2 beaten eggs
¼ T. Pepper

Sauce
1.5 C. Brown Sugar
1/2 C. Vinegar
1/2 C. Water
1 T. Dry Mustard

Boil 4-5 minutes

Directions
Mix loaves together and put in a 9x13 pan. Bake at 375 for 30 minutes. Pour sauce over them and turn down
to 300. Bake one more hour, basting every 15 minutes
This is correct except it isn't one loaf. You take the mixture and mold 8-10 loaves by hand and put them in the 9x13 pan.

More wonderful basted crust in each loaf.

Red's video is terribad. I hope that guy is doing this cable access thing on purpose.

Looking Ptylon's recipe, it'd be something I'd try probably, but I'll bet that loaf is salty.

I did have some type of ham ball things in the small town of Manson, IA when I was on RAGBRAI a couple years back. They were damn tasty, very likely some variation of ham loaf.
