If I had to choose between a great NFL postseason game and a great NHL postseason game, it would be pretty close for me. Overall though, I'd say NHL and it's not even very close.

Wild Card weekend in the NFL is basically like the regular season in terms of quality, then it gets slightly better in the 2nd round, then finally down to business during the championship weekend and SB. The NHL playoffs provide a pretty high level of hockey throughout.

And of course March Madness is pretty entertaining for what it is.

I like the MLB postseason, too, but my interest level skyrocketed when the Royals were in it... vs NHL and NFL where I don't care as much who is playing.

Think I'd go with...
1) NHL postseason
2) Frozen Four
3a) March Madness
3b) NFL postseason
4) MLB postseason
.
.
.
5) NBA postseason, if I need something to flip to during the NHL playoffs.

Pretty much any NHL playoff game not involving the Blues might be an enjoyable experience.

NBA postseason isn't as exciting due to my lakers being irrelevant, but the Spurs vs Heat that went to 7 was an all time worthy series.

I'm shocked you would put Frozen Four over NFL. College hockey big where you're from/currently located?

I need to give the NBA more of a chance, just don't have time to watch it much. The amount of skill is great, but I get turned off by all the whistles and diving. Went to a Heat/Hawks playoff game several years ago in Atlanta... the atmosphere was pretty impressive, especially for Atlanta.

College hockey isn't big here in KC, but when I first got into the NHL, I'd catch Frozen Four games and immediately loved it. I have season tickets to Nebraska-Omaha.. they made the Frozen Four this season, but they aren't exactly well known in college hockey. In the past ~15 years, my interest in hockey has grown while my interest in the NFL has diminished... like I said though, a great NFL game is right there with the best hockey, but IMO the problem is there just isn't enough great football these days, while there's a lot of high quality hockey. The NHL has the perfect level of parity, while the NFL is parity gone too far and is just watered down, IMO.

Forgot about college football.. not terribly interested in all the bowl games, but the January bowl games definitely rank high on the list.

I don't understand the selections (Game 7 Cup Finals (OT) is better than the entire NHL postseason?).

...so I just went with NHL.

ONly two forms of playoffs are worth a shit
NLF, and MArch madness
you get one and done
go big or go home

the rest are just playing for ratings and on percentages the better team usually wins

but in nfl and College hoops
the hot team wins

Yeah, but what about when teams are well matched up? I'd rather a long series for that.

Main reason I don't agree with you is that the NFL has built in a huge advantage to top seeded teams and the higher ranked team. You can make the Super Bowl without winning a single playoff game on the road. This for a sport where homefield advantage is a HUGE advantage. I know there's nothing you can do about it (though I wish we could ditch the #1/#2 seed bye week concept), but at least 7 game series gives the under-seed team a fighting chance.

A few other things I hate about the NFL playoffs... ridiculous idea that 7-9 teams can make the playoffs. And the fact that playoff seeds / berths are often a product of easy scheduling vs. putting the best teams in the playoffs.

I'd say the worst by far is the MLB. Harder to get excited about games where you use your #3 or #4 pitcher, and many times your game 7 is decided by either not the ace or an ace on short rest. Last year's WS was exciting but it isn't usually.
