A good challenge for Chiefsplanet runners.
I happened across this site recently. If you want to be known as an elite high-altitude ultramarathoner, you can complete this route of approximately 100 miles within 60 hours.
Doing 100 miles in 60 hours is going to be hard for most of us, but for a top ultramarathoner it's a piece of cake. The record for a 100 mile race is now under 12 hours, and 16 hour times are not uncommon. The challenge in this race is the course. You have to climb 14 of Colorado's 14,000-foot mountains along the course. Check out the web page here, along with some of the race reports. It's pretty cool. It looks like it's been done seven times. Overview and race reports: http://mattmahoney.net/nolans14/ Course Map: http://mattmahoney.net/nolans14/maps/index.html |

Challenge not accepted.
Way above my head, but it is amazing what people are doing these days. I have several running friends who have done a bunch of 100 and 50 mile races. Not to that elevation but some really technical trail stuff. You can do anything you have time to train for and can talk yourself into. |

You mean 100 meters right?
Miles is a common misspelling.

I did four times a day in Afghanistan with a 69 pound ruck, grenade launcher, radio, m9, m4, spare barrel for the machine gun and the base plate for the mortar launcher.
