Ramsey was the best CB in football and a future HOFer. Sneed is really talented but not that. And the Rams were in full ****-it-and-overpay mode during a time when teams were overvaluing CBs in general.

Sneed has more value in a Spags defense alongside McDuffie than he would for any other team.

I agree with you that we aren’t getting the Ramsey deal.

But Spags D not making things easy on Sneed. He plays the hardest least forgiving corner snaps in the NFL.

He’s put out in impossible situations over and over and over and still wins.

And this is what it's gonna be. People really need to check their expectations. Sneed is good - great even - but he also led the league in penalties last year. And we don't exactly hold maximum leverage in this situation.

A 2 in the first half of the second round + 20mm cap space would be super helpful for some of the voids we need to fill that are more pressing than corner (though of course the implication is our secondary is going to be less effective but that's the thing about re-tooling - we'll strengthen ourselves in different areas and come out in a similar place holistically speaking).

Sneed isn’t gonna be a fit for all defenses and that might water down his market a little (and the teams, in the case of seeking a trade partner)

Hard to say. Just takes a couple teams who fall in love with his game. But you put yourselves in the shoes of other teams who know it’s gonna take a massive contract as well, and it’s easy to see why a 2 is the trade price.
