Alex Smith is the guy. We'll pluck some guy in round 2 who'll be essentially the left over scraps from the 1st round. Probably Bray.

Or care about what the fanbase thinks, or how battered they are. They're just going to do what they think is right and assume if it works out, the fans will love it.

I hope this is the plan. Clark did hint that we would bring in multiple quarterbacks through different methods. Bring Alex in to play out his contract and draft Geno with #1.1. Would be incredibly smart, not to mention both Reid and Dorsey have done similar things in the past.

If Reid and Dorsey bring in Geno I won't be pissed at all. It all hinges on Branden Albert. He is the saving grace for Geno. Who knew Branden Albert could decide this franchises fate for 10+ years.

They will trade for Alex and give him an extension.

Not an extension that will slam dunk his future here, but one just big enough to make us all wonder.

And we'll spend the next three offseasons wondering when Reid/Dorsey will come to their senses and draft a 1st round QB.

They will be fired after year four.

thats what happens when you bring in guys that come from "systems/plans" and their own buddy buddy elite club process from their prior team

rather than adopting/creating THEIR OWN path.

We will just be a poor version of the Packers/Eagles for 4 years like we were a poor version of the Patriots/Browns for four years. Rinse. Repeat

If they go this route, they better make damn sure that all the prospects from this class are total crap. If they pass on all of them and trade for Alex Smith, NONE of the qbs in this class better do shit and Alex Smith better be the god damned shit that dreams are made of.

I dont want to hear the excuses when Geno Smith and Barkley are playing good football and Alex Smith is a never was a few years from now.

there will be at least 3 QBs from this class that have better careers than Alex Smith

who they are, I dont know, but this isnt the Sam Bradford QB draft class and this class will clearly have QBs who end up being a good starting NFL QB. Maybe not a QB that takes you to the Super Bowl, but definitely a Jay Cutler, Tony Romo, Phillip Rivers type and that is 10x better than Alex Smith
