If you want another athletic TE, take a look at SC's Rory Anderson. He is a much more capable, willing, and physical blocker than Funchess is. He has great body control, is strong at the point of the catch, great ball skills, and pretty good speed for a guy his size. Plus he won't cost a 1st round pick. I think he will be perfect in the move TE role.

Funchess is a bit of a soft bitch. He makes Jimmy Graham look like Jason Dunn.

If you want a TE that can block and catch some passes, go draft Koyack from Notre Dame.
If you want a big ass WR like Kelvin Benjamin, then draft Funchess. That's my 2 cents. |

Meh, Koyack is ok, nothing special.
In all seriousness, Harris is fine. If we let him go and he lights it up somewhere else after showing tremendous improvements since he got here, we'll all be kicking ourselves. Julian Thomas took 2 years before he did something in his 3rd season of learning how to play TE after converting from mostly playing basketball in college but had 1 year of college football. Demetrius Harris didn't play any college football at all, yet he's already come far enough along to be an active player on game days. He may not have the stats right now, but that's pretty significant. |

Right now, though, Kelce is a god send and we will be putting his work forward from here on out. Those 3 TE sets that we've seen, putting two blockers out on the wing, and tossing screens to Kelce can seriously threaten the near-red zone defenses when they give us the space we need. We've seen this like 6 times this year, and have gone 6 for 6 with either picking up the first down or scoring. Quote:
I won't be kicking myself if he turns out well somewhere else , he's literally been less than worthless here, and looked like garbage even in pre-season for a guy with "1" talent working against 2's and 3s. And as far as being an "active" player on game days, that's almost semantics because sure, he sees a couple plays, but he's not really a contributing factor, considering Bowe and Hemingway can block almost as well as he can, without having to pull one of them off the field. And we all know the guy isn't going to actually catch the ball if its thrown at him. |

I don't?
Explain to me, then, what Harris has done in his NFL career in the regular season. I'll wait. Because if your answer is "****ING NOTHING" then you'd be using my opinion of him, and I'd default "know what I"m talking about". Does he have talent? Yes. Does he look more lost than a virgin at a porn convention? Absolutely. That kid ONLY stays if we lose Fasano and need a warm body. |
