What if Smith gets hurt?
I think most sane fans want Mahomes to sit behind Smith for a year. If Smith were to get hurt do you scrap the plan and play the rookie or ride it out with Bray and hope he plays well and turns into trade bait?

Then Bray goes in if you're smart. If you're an idiot, you throw Mahomes behind the same line that got Smith hurt and let him get shell shocked and revert to all of the bs in his mechanics and decision making that will sink the team as he throws INT after INT.

It's Bray's last year of his contract so, he would actually be playing for a contract. But, I don't know if it's far fetched to say that Pat would be the backup. If they feel like he is comfortable by the time the incident happens, he would definitely be ahead of Bray.

If Smith gsts hurt, there are 3 different options I see.....

1) Bray comes in and our offense isnt affected in the slightest bit.

2) Mahomes comes in, isnt ready, and our offense suffers dramatically.

3) Mahomes comes in, provides a spark to our offense, and we go on to accomplish more as a team than we were going to without an injury.

No affect, huge step back, or huge step forward.
