Royals Kauffman Question

Need a little help here.

Friend of mine is going to take in a game at Kauffman and looking for seats that would be in the shade. The game has a start time of 1:15.

We are thinking 3rd base side, but not sure?

Definitely 3rd base side, lower deck as high in that area as you can get. The sun won't get behind the lip of the stadium until around 3pm. If you sit in the outfield or anywhere down the first base line, you're in the sun the entire game.

Also, if you can't get seats high up on the first level of the 3rd base side, there's a concession area that has a tunnel opening right up behind the 3rd base dugout. That way, if you do get stuck in the sun, its a quick trip under cover to an air conditioned area that has TVs, tables, bathrooms, everything. I had seats to KC-Baltimore on a Sunday afternoon a few weeks ago, and it was a quick hop up out of the seat to sneak in there for some shade and to cool off. Kauffman is much more fan friendly since the big renovation. It's really a wonderful ballpark.

If I remember correctly from some past season tickets, row HH in the lowers, is the shade cutoff on the 3rd base side for a 1:15 start time. Everything above that is in the shade.

If you get hot, you can cool down by taking a quick dip in the fountains.
