Chiefs get a 3rd, a 5th, and 2 6ths as compensation picks...

They can be traded this year...

The fact that Mahomes is touted as a first rounder this year is enough to tell you how weak this class is. In a year like next year we wouldn't have to trade up to get our Mahomes.

The class is simply much better next year with guys like Rosen and Darnold coming out. It's unlikely we will get them, but what we will get is the quality of guys that follow those two- someone like Browning.

Whatever is available to us in 2018 will be much better than an Alex Smith 2.0 like Peterman this year.
I hate this reasoning so much. I really do bc it makes no sense.

1. Jake Browning will not make it out of the top 12. In fact, all these 2018 top QB's will be gone far before we ever pick and the only way to get one of them
Would be to give up 3 first rd picks + more.
2. This bullshit about talented QB's not being available is wrong. It's all wrong.

Here's the last 6 draft classes:

2016-Dak
2015-Semen..was not far off from Alex as a rookie with far less talent
2014-Carr, Teddy
2013-scratch
2012-Wilson
2011-Dalton, Kap

Looking back further, you've got Rodgers and Brees who weren't top 20 picks.

There are talented QB's who have proven they are much better (and cheaper options) than Alex. They are there often.

Stop with the "legit QBOTF hype machine". There won't be one of those unless you are picking in the top 10.
Seriously. Not one of the QB's listed above was in that category when they were drafted.

I'd take Rosen and all his flaws over any of the QBs in this year's draft.

I'd take it up the ass rather than watch Smith play QB for the Chiefs any longer.

Remember at the end of the 2012 draft when everybody said, "It's okay that we didn't waste picks on Ryan Tannehill. 2013 is going to be just as good of a class if not better."

The hype around the potential of Bray, Barkley, Tyler Wilson, the steady eddy nature of guys like Landry Jones and Aaron Murray (people thought he would declare early) and yes, the exciting potential of Geno Smith. That was all parroted by not only national media guys and a couple drafturbators, but ALSO the "be patient and wait for the right QB in the right class" people.

The REAL bottom line is if you like Mahomes, then go ****ing draft him. DON'T wait for better options, because it's just as likely a QB class can flop and bust just as much as an individual QB prospect can

So much truth and wisdom here. Waiting in this league gets you nothing.

I dont see Dorsey passing on a QB that he and Reid like to take one in the next draft. If a QB is there at 27 that they want then he will be a Chief. However, I don't see a QB prospect that'd move Dorsey to trade a 1st and two 3rd's to go up and get. Not in this class.

I'm not going to hold my breath on Dorsey and Reid actually being successful in finding a QB.

Bingo.

Nobody has a clue how next years QB class with look till next year is played out.

If there's a QB you like, go get him.

If it's a swing and a miss, swing again next year.
