How good, exactly, is Branden Albert.

Here's a list of the starting left tackles from last year, according to NFL.com:

Nate Solder (Patriots)
D'Brickashaw Ferguson (Jets)
Jake Long (Dolphins)
Cordy Glenn (Bills)

Bryant McKinnie (Ravens)
Max Starks (Steelers)
Andrew Whitworth (Bengals)
Joe Thomas (Browns)

Anthony Castonzo (Colts)
Eugene Monroe (Jaguars)
Michael Roos (Titans)
Duane Brown (Texans)

Branden Albert (Chiefs)
Ryan Clady (Broncos)
Michael Harris (Chargers)
Jared Veldeer (Raiders)

Will Beatty (Giants)
Tyron Smith (Cowboys)
Trent Williams (Redskins)
King Dunlap (Eagles)

J'Marcus Webb (Bears)
Marshall Newhouse (Packers)
Jeff Backus (Lions)
Matt Kalil (Vikings)

Jerman Bushrod (Saints)
Donald Penn (Buccaneers)
Jordan Gross (Panthers)
Sam Baker (Falcons)

Joe Staley (49ers)
Levi Brown (Cardinals)
Russell Okung (Seahawks)
Roger Saffold (Rams)

You want to call Branden Albert a top 10 LT? Then list specifically where he lands in this list.

Keep in mind, we're probably going to have at least three new ones next year in Bryan Bulaga (Packers), Mike Adams (if he can beat out Starks in Pittsburgh), Luke Joeckel (whomever drafts him) and Eric Fisher (same).

He's a tad overrated on this board IMO due to some obvious homerism....he's still very good though.

**** it, let's just turn this into a Joeckel thread.

That's all you neanderthals want to talk about. So **** it.

If Branden Albert has started left tackle for the Aggies last year, I'm guessing his performance would have been almost exactly the same as Joeckel's. Except the run game would have been kicking even more ass on his side.

Wow, thats just a bizarre underestimation.

note to self* devalue future PFF ratings on Albert.

Wut?

You have it backwards...how would Joekel do as an NFL LT is the question that can't be answered.

Direckshun, wanna make a bet?

I say that Luke Joeckel, provided he starts 14+ games, will allow 7 sacks or more this season.

If he doesn't start a minimum of 14 games, the bet is off.

So A&M was an NFL team playing other NFL teams how?

Now we're cooking with gas. All Joeckel, all the ****ing time.

That question actually can be answered, and probably will be in about five months.

Joeckel's athleticism, measureables, and level of domination at college level projects very comfortably to being an above average LT in the NFL.

My point is next year Joeckel will get his ass handed to him it took Albert 3 years to be LT he is now. Joeckel doesn't have near the athletic ability that Albert has so what you see the next two years is as good as it's going to get when it comes to overall growth and potential.

Joeckel will be a rookie LT. He's going to see a ton of heat.

He will perform admirably, as Kalil did this past year. I expect the same performance out of him.

I seriously doubt you have any idea as to the talent levels of 80-90% of those on that list. You haven't watched tape of all those assholes. You're just pulling this out of your rectum.

Key word.

Either way, letting Albert walk or even getting compensation through a trade isn't helping this team. We still need a LT and have a proven one that is very very good. We've been searching for stability at LT since Roaf retired, we finally have it....pay Albert and draft another need.
