The 2015 Chiefs Texans discussion thread

Yeah, baby! It seems like it's been forever and a day, but the next time the Chiefs take the field, it's for real and it counts.

Time to get down to business...

Is Clowney anything?
How do we contain Watt?
Can Gaines/Peters severely limit Hopkins production?
How long till they bench Hoyer, or he gets his head ripped off?

It's tough to open on the road, but I think the Chiefs can pull out a win here. I'm thinking 23-10.

I worry that we didn't get our Oline into any consistency.

Players were in and out, changing positions, injured all preseason long.

Do we even know who is going to start at RG yet?

not good

They key will be tearing their secondary a new ass. I don't see a problem in that regard.

Andy Reid said LDT is one of the 5 best linemen right now and that he made a strong case to start at RG. I'm liking the way our line is shaping up.

Fisher
Grubbs
Morse
LDT
Allen/Stephenson/Reid

Is Fulton going to challenge at center?

I hate estly don't think so. I think he is your swing for the middle three spots. Allen plays RT or either guard spot. Reid is the last man line of defense and is backup RT until Allen is healthy.

I think Fulton is first off the bench at C/G and LDT has a chance to lock down the RG spot before Allen returns from injury. He's more talented and is cheap the next 3 years where Allen is a FA after this season.

If there ever was a dumb "must win" game this is it actually, considering the first month of the season on paper anyway. I know it's the first game but that game cost us a playoff spot last year. Big game.

Huge key for us is that Andy Reid makes the TEXANS stop Jamaal Charles, and not do the defense's job for them by shutting Charles down himself with shitty playcalling.

We have to remain balanced against that front. I mean, if this is going to be Alex dropping back to pass every play, Watt and company are going to have a ****ing field day when he isn't mauling Alex Smith, he will be swatting down those little bullshit quick passes that we all love so ****ing much.

Have to keep them honest, and make them defend the run. Make it a constant threat, and help those O-linemen in pass protection by not making every single down a dropback. If Reid calls a good game offensively, Kelce and Maclin should definitely have their shots to make some big plays against that defense.

Jamaal blowing up Cushing in pass protection again couldn't hurt our chances either.

Their offense shouldn't do much. Their #1 running back is out, and Brian Hoyer is their QB. Only a total ****up on offense costs us this game.

Chiefs 24, Texans 6

If this team is worth two shits, they'll dump the Texans. Even with it being on the road.

Texans | Jadaveon Clowney will be ready

Sun, 06 Sep 2015 15:40:56 -0700

Houston Texans LB Jadeveon Clowney (knee) is still on track to play in the season opener Sunday, Sept. 13, but head coach Bill O'Brien would not say whether Clowney will start or how much time he would see.
