Hilariously the marketing probably turned more people off than on with the shitty trailers.

You have to remember that out of that 180 million gross, about 35-40 percent goes to the theaters.

Currently at $126.5m, and with a production budget of $144m, it doesn't look like the domestic box is going to cover that nut. At $224.5m over all, it looks like it's going to lose millions prior to DVD sales and the like.

I can see that, they literally went full reerun on getting people to watch/love this movie after the casting calls..

Basically the Streisand effect.. Everyone I know that saw it said it was ok at best, then the ones that hated it, which they did not pay to see it.

If they would of just let the movie happen it would have pulled a profit world wide.. Instead doubled down and sealed its fate..

Meh. They weren't targeting the same audience. Which was stupid, but true.

This movie was made for little girls, and every little girl I know loved it.

The thing is while appealing to little girls they decided to overtly attack large swaths of their audience before it was even released. The director, the studio, all came after potential fans to pre-excuse any underperformance.

This isn't even a remake. It's a totally new story that piggy backs the name and uses a bit of it's iconic imagery for marketability.

My 8 year old daughter liked it, but said the old one was better.

I thought this one had a few decent parts, but overall was very mediocre. The entire ending was pure shit.

And yes, I'm aware she's a lady's man. Doesn't mean she isn't sweet, talented and attractive.

Really? I wouldn't call it amazing, but I was pleasantly surprised. I'll admit, the trailer looked horrible mainly because it just showed Melissa McCarthy falling down all the time and some dumb one liners without context.

I'm not any woman empowerer person or anything like that, but I think so many people wanted to hate this film going in because it was an female cast of Ghostbusters. I thought they did a good job. I loved Kate McKinnon's character and thought most of the characters were well done. I actually found the male Helmsworth character pretty dumb and unfunny (imagine that).

Certainly not walk out of the theater worthy. 7 out of 10.

I did not realize that she was a lesbian until recently. I stumbled across a clip of her on YouTube, and watched it because she's cute. Turned out to be her talking about how very much of a lesbian she is. Not a big deal. Not like she was going to sleep with me if she was straight. She's still cute.
