Why can't Tyreek be our #1 WR?

The more I'm sitting here thinking about how explosive and quick this guy is, I start questioning why can't he be our #1 WR?

Antonio Brown is probably smaller than he is.
NONE of the Chiefs WRs have better hands than he does.
NONE of the Chiefs WRs get more seperation.

I heard that there was some report that claimed TH has the most seperation of any WR in the league. It was statistical analysis by one of those Pro football statistician sites.

Why can't he be our #1? Anyone have a solid answer?

Maclin is basically playing on a contract year after that abysmal season. I still believe he's more likely to have a better bounce back season than Charles/Tamba/or Houston...even if that makes me sound crazy.

Barring unforeseen circumstances (such as an injury to Kelce, Hill, or Houston.. knock on wood), there is no chance Maclin has a better season than Houston next year. Probably not Charles if he comes back either.

I think Maclin is still a really good receiver, but he's the 3rd biggest threat in this offense. An offense that isn't known for filling up the stat sheet.

LOL. I'm not even trying to troll Tigger really.

As for Tigger... Dude. If you'd concede some of Alex's shortcomings that are blatantly obvious to pretty much everyone that watches football, and be brutally honest about it, then I think people would respect you a whole lot more. Some of your arguments are outstanding on a load of other topics, players, etc. Your blind homerism towards Smith, however, just fuels this insane fire in everyone. Its to the point that people view you as the troll and not the other way around. It makes people disregard or not respect the good opinions and observations you do post.

Alex does some really good things that many here have or are willing to concede, but there's no bend the other direction from you either. If Alex Smith took 30% of his passes behind the LOS and turned them into passes 11+ yards, effectively pushing the ball down the field more, I'd love him as a QB. And anyone with half a brain saw just how bad Alex was at that this year. He actually seemed to regress in pushing the ball down the field and he certainly saw too many ghosts in the pocket this year.

I don't want to get much more into Alex, since this isn't really an Alex thread. I'll leave it alone saying that the play of Alex Smith absolutely affects Tyreek Hill's ability to transition into a top target.

Absolutely agree with your first statement. Maclin is too expensive to repeat his 2016 performance. Injuries can't be an excuse. Maclin's availability was a big reason people scoffed at his contract when it went down.

I think that if Houston gets to 100%, nobody will have a bigger bounce back year than him. He's going to be hungry after missing so much time, we saw it in the Denver game, but he just wasn't 100% coming back.

I respect your opinion. But to state that I don't view Smith as imperfect is wrong. I've said multiple times that we missed out not drafting Dak and RW. I criticize Smith like on his bad overthrows towards the end of the season. I don't think you can have the record he does over the last 6 seasons and not be a top 10 QB over that time frame.
Mistake free football comes with perks and being a dual threat QB is another asset he brings, but yes it is frustrating him not push the ball consistently down the field. Maclin's huge step back from being that dominant end zone presence really hurt Smith's production this year. The run game didn't do him any favors either. We pay him $14mil/year over his 5-6 years on this team, I think he lives up to that contract which is why I defend him so much. Plus he has put up thru a lot of shit (terrible receivers, shit O line) and has played some tough schedules, and lost his #1 weapon in that time frame.

Exactly, you can't just go around saying we missed on this guy or that guy all the time... If he wasn't pick within a couple spots of our pick then that should be evidence that he either wasn't that good at the time of draft or popular opinion agreed and several other teams also "passed on him"

Back to the OP.

I wonder what kind of numbers Hill would put up if he was on the Falcons or Saints ? I have to think if he were he'd be getting media attention like Beckam or Brown or Jones.
