I'm not a hockey strategist or anything...

but wouldn't a smart move (albeit risky) here be pull the goalie...and play with a 2 man advantage...sell out for a goal here while risking an empty net?

Does this ever happen? Or is it just too risky?

It's been done. Not TOO common, but it definitely happens from time to time. Usually a little later in the game though.

It might happen at this point if the Bruins were on the PP, trailing, and about to lose the series. Sometimes you'll see the goalie pulled very early in that situation.

The problem is there's no icing on a PP, so the defense can just take shots at the open net from the other end.

Yeah I knew that was the risk...but they aren't going to score on this power play...so yeah, again revisionist history, but the odds of the Hawks tying this up are slim so I think you take the 2 man advantage...

Worst that happens is you let that goal go, you lose, and you get ready for game 7.

Like I said though...I'm no hockey strategist, so I could be dead wrong.
