Face it we kept ****ing turd burger free safety till it cost us dearly yet never moved Berry? Why because Berry is a dog in coverage and is just adequate against TE's. he play up in the box and is an animal against the run. But you dont draft a Safety numero uno to be a run stuffer. The injury hurt him. the Pro Bowl in 2012 common? He didnt deserve that they threw him a bone. He was on last year but probowl Its become a farce and a popularity BS. Earl Thomas is a stud that covers incredibly well and can lay some wood he is no slouch and the Chiefs would have been better to have traded down that year and taken him.

Im for sure no expert in football but Ive been a fan since the first superbowl and I was a lil tike watching with dad and brother on a black and white packard bell.So you can take your pre school bs and shove it down your gullet. You got your opinion I have mine. If the Chiefs traded him I wouldn't be surprised nor would I jump of the Bond Bridge. Oh by the way have you ever seen Reid or Dorsey single out Berry with praise or talk how he took over the game? Neither have I. probably because he hasn't been the same since his knee blowout.
No offense, but on this you're flat out wrong. Eric Berry isn't just a run stuffer. He's a guy who makes big plays in run defense. Big difference. He can fly in to make tackles most safeties can't. And he was very good in coverage last year, even if he wasn't as good in the playoff game as I would have liked.

Big thing is I think I hear the guy is a big student of the game. With how difficult strong safety is in a Sutton defense, he'll only get better with experience. But Berry and Houston should 100% be cornerstones of our defense.

Sp, you've been a pre schooler for at least 44 years.

Not to mention that he was one of the top safeties in coverage, possibly number 1 at his position. I know he was tops in covering TEs in the entire league.

Trading him is 5 steps back to pick up maybe 1 or 2 picks with little assurance that you can actually draft 1 or 2 guys and end up better rosterwise.

Sadly, Mellinger went full reerun, and somewhere JoPos and Whitlock will be using the sports section to wipe their asses.

Extending smith destroys the cap. He's cheap right now.

The Chiefs would never get equitable value back in a trade. Particularly not for a safety with a high salary already.

This is the last season on his contract. He will be resigned/extended. Get it over with so we can move on knowing where we stand.
