Staind National Anthem

Aaron Lewis lead singer for band Staind blows Star Spangled Banner at game 5 of World Series. Though he apologized profusely he did completely rip Christine Aguilara for botching Super Bowl National Anthem. Paybacks is a bitch.
You would think these supposed professionals might study a bit after accepting this honor instead of just winging it before 40,000 +. I bet old neck tattoo would be pissed if the artist misspelled whatever that thing on his neck means.

Damn you, I was going to post that. Best version ever. By a mile.

EDIT:

1. our youth football announcer plays it before every game (along with the NFL theme music). WAY cool.

2. I love how she just goes out there in basically a jogging suit and annihilates the song. With eleventy billion people about to watch the super bowl. No muss, no fuss. Just let her voice dominate.

3. every time i hear it, I think sadly of the loss of Whitney and her phenomenal talent. Just sucks.

But God Bless America is not the national anthem, so I feel no need to do that. It is just a song. Next, it'll be that ****ing horrible Lee Greenwood song.

I'd actually be happier if it was. I hate the Star Spangled Banner. It's difficult to remember, difficult to sing, and just (in my opinion) crappy.

I honestly don't think I could sit here and recite the entire anthem by heart, even though I've heard it a hundred thousand times or whatever. It's just not an easy song in any way.

Did you know that Whitney Houston's debut LP, called simply Whitney Houston, had four No. 1 singles on it?

It's hard to choose a favorite among so many great tracks, but "The Greatest Love of All" is one of the best, most powerful songs ever written about self-preservation, dignity. Its universal message crosses all boundaries and instills one with the hope that it's not too late to better ourselves. Since, Elizabeth, it's impossible in this world we live in to empathize with others, we can always empathize with ourselves. It's an important message, crucial really. And it's beautifully stated on the album.

That's reeruned. I can respect the select few who have fought for freedoms without flag worship. Ever since I was in high school (I'm in my 20s now), I have not stood or said the Pledge of Allegiance of the United States. It's not out of disrespect or rebellion, contrary to what everybody around me probably thinks when I stay seated as they all stand. I don't wave my middle finger at the flag or goof around on my phone; I just sit quietly and wait for it to be over. I have no problem if other people want to say the pledge. They can agree to be loyal to the United States if they want; it really doesn't matter to me.

Why should I pledge my allegiance to a country? Is it not enough to pay my taxes and vote in elections? I'm not going to work as a spy for another country and I have no plans to become an expat. I just won't say the pledge. My country, like all other countries, is imperfect and has made plenty of terrible mistakes. Why should I declare my dedication to a country that will no doubt make more mistakes in the future? Why should I have to say that I'll support my country no matter what actions it takes?

Just to clarify, I wouldn't pledge my allegiance to any country, so don't think that I'm just singling out the United States.

But if I were to stand, I would add at the very end my own little self satisfying end. It goes like this.... "with liberty and justice for all, except minorities and the poor."

I like keeping it real.

So the National Anthem isn't for him. Now he can get back to writing depressing songs where he whines about a stupid ex-girlfriend dumping him or his mommy issues. He's a bitch. **** him.

I don't know why you would say that, other than just to be a dick. I do stand and remove hat for the national anthem.

Actually, she was lip-synching. To her own pre-recorded voice, but what we heard wasn't live.

It's weird that you see it that way. You should move to North Korea. You'll be encouraged to stand and sing patriotic songs all the time.
