-- We're way overdue to discuss Steak and Shake in depth.
This is the best value + taste fast food out there, IMO.

Today I alternatively decided on a sausage, egg and cheese biscuit and a gigantic OJ (both were way above average) The sausage was well done - which I prefer. The Orange Juice was very refreshing.


Their lunch $4 options are a hell of a deal - occasionally I'll get the triple hamburger and fry after adding cheese and tax it's something like $4.86

Now I DO like Culvers, but all things in the mix; Steak and Shake is doing better things for the community by being MUCH more affordable.

What do you all like ordering at S&S...?

Haven't had S&S in decades. Can't say that they were bad, or great. Reminded me of a old fashioned style hamburger in a chain setting. If I want a burger like that I will just go to whatever old local burger pit is there. Every city has them. You know the places where you walk out with your bag and the bottom of the bag is covered in grease. That's a hamburger joint.

Broke in my new steel griddle with some ultra smashed burgers. Kicks the shit out of Steak & Shake.

I was waiting for you to post that.

I do not order a burger out unless i know they use a burgers blend with good tasty cut of beef. i want me some spare rib, brisket, and loin meat, top sirloin works well. Hanger and flank work to but when i bur meat for burgers I get the SRBTS burger.

Hit it hit it with lots of smoke then sear the **** out of it and then let it rest for 30 minutes to allow the heat to spread and the meat to relax Perfect!!!

How big is that burger that it's resting for 30 minutes. That's ridiculous.

I finally went to Steak and Shake for the first time ever last night on my way out of Springfield. The burger was very good but small, fries were less than spectacular and the shake was decent. Paid around $7.50 for the combo which isn't bad but I'd rather pay an extra buck for bigger burger. If I go back again sometime I'd order a second one.
