Man WTF is wrong with these people.

First they kill a healthy giraffe and feed it to the lions which was disgusting.

Now they kill 4 healthy lionesses and cubs.

They said it was to make room for a new male lion that would prey on the cubs anyway.

Can't they give these lions a new home instead of 6 feet under?

I don't get it.

Maybe these assholes should not be allowed to run a zoo.

"Denmark, the land of enchanting fairy tales and liberal social values, is becoming known as the land of dead zoo animals.

The Copenhagen Zoo, which generated global outrage last month when it killed a healthy 18-month-old giraffe named Marius, said it had to euthanize four lions this week to clear the path for a newly arrived young male lion. The zoo’s decision created a backlash on social media on Wednesday, with some calling the zoo’s staff members “serial killers” and “murderers.”

The zoo justified the killings of the two parents, ages 14 and 16, and their cubs on the grounds of genetic purity and conservation, noting that the new lion would invariably prey on the cubs, while there was a risk that the older male lion would try to breed with one of the female lions that were his offspring.

Lions ate the remains of Marius, a healthy giraffe, after the Copenhagen Zoo killed him because his genes were well represented.

“If the zoo had not made the change in the pride now, then we would have risked that the old male would mate with these two females — his own offspring — and thereby give rise to inbreeding,” it said in a statement on Wednesday.

They've been killing lions there for years. The giraffe was something different so it went all psycho on they internet. I don't think they care so much about PR.

We kill dogs and cats all day every day while flinging words of justification.

No we didn't have sex, actually. And I wasn't even disappointed about that. Her boyfriend was supposed to be meeting her there in a few days and I could tell that she felt bad about what we were doing. But, we still had this undeniable attraction to one another. We just kissed eachother and held eachother as we slept. We did that every night.

It's weird. I was always the type of dude to pull out all of the stops and try to close no matter what, but I didn't even try.

I even wound up having one night stands with a few different girls later on that trip.

I can't really explain what happened while I was with that Danish girl. And it wasn't that she held some power over me, either. I was 100% comfortable with her. Maybe that's why? Haven't really had that too many times before.

You are so correct. That must be why the WHO ranks them at 34 for overall health care, which isn't amazing, but still slightly ahead of the USA. They also typically lead the world as the happiest nation.

edit: Unrelated to above, but it is kind of silly to be appalled at killing giraffes, lions, etc., when we harvest livestock all the time. Yes, there are fewer lions and giraffes in the wild, but these were raised in zoos, and will never see anything but walls and fat people starring at them (in the US that is).
