I would certainly trade Holland and Zimmer for Pederson, no doubt.
But the Dodgers wouldn't so it's a moot point. |

But then, nothing will ever compare to your "trade shields and holland to St Louis" idea that would have destroyed the franchise beyond repair. |

I was wrong about the Royals selling at the deadline...when the team looked dead. I can admit that. But if Dayton waived the white flag, I don't think many PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL PEOPLE would have blamed him. Teams that don't hit generally don't go on the type of run we went on. Landing Taveras for .5 years of Shields and 1 more expensive year of Holland would have been a total steal, and everyone would have been super happy about our ROI for James Shields. But hey, if you want to play this game...let me go dig up all of your Alex Gordon, Mike Moustakas and Eric Hosmer posts. You predicted us to win like 80 games. We were right on that pace, more or less, at the trade deadline... So a guy who predicted us to win 80 games while we sat their floundering at the trade deadline wouldn't have traded a guy that was going to give us another .5 year of being .500 plus a closer who is going to cost like $12M next year for OSCAR TAVERAS? yeah, ok you're a ****ing liar and the Cardinals never would've done it, either...I was feeling it out to see if we could trick a team into giving us an amazing prospect for Jeff Samardzija like the Cubs pulled on the A's |

oh and Moose was 1 for 3 with a run against Oakland while playing his usual stout defense...
and that 1 hit was an opposite field hit off of Lester...which started giving him some confidence (finally) to go the other way which finally started giving him some confidence which is pretty important in baseball if your confidence is shattered, you're not going to be successful playing baseball. The sport is very mental. The fact Hosmer and Moose, the two guys with more raw talent than anyone on our team, are BEAMING with confidence is HUGE for the Royals right now. Just plain HUGE. |

Colon also had the game tying hit in the 12th. Your "gotcha!" Effort here was atrocious.
But, nothing like what your horrendous trade idea in July was. It will always be your Scarlet Letter here. I can't read your posts without laughing about that. |

why don't you ask duncan_idaho whether or not he would've traded James Shields and Greg Holland for Oscar Taveras at the trade deadline and then get back to me

Not that I'm against trading Holland, because I feel like relievers are generally replaceable... but I feel like he's almost underrated by the fanbase. Even more this year because of what Davis did. Holland has put up four rock solid years as good as anyone in the American League. The last two years he's put up a sub-1.50 ERA while striking out over 13 per 9 IP.
Just watching him in the last couple playoff games has been amazing. He's the most dominant reliever in franchise history. The only guy I'd rather have over him if money didn't matter is Kimbrel. |

No.
Starting a rookie 2nd baseman at 3rd base was a terrible, horrible, amazingly bad idea. Trying to get Vladimir Guerrero for a team that needed to bolster their bullpen and add a legitimate starter to go after a WS was a pipe dream, because St Louis isn't dumb enough to mortgage their future. Every smart baseball guy would have taken that deal, given where we were at, in a heartbeat. Every. Single. One. The deal was never on the table. If it was, I'm sure Dayton would have had to do it, too. Thank God it wasn't and thank God he didn't... but at least I'm not a revisionist historian like you are. I've been money with the Royals the last few months...you? Well, outside of the trolling, we've been doing far too well so you haven't been present. When things are going well, since you're not actually a fan, you don't post...because with Hosmer and Moose doing so well, there is nothing for you to troll. The only reason you ever liked the Shields trade was because it was the unpopular side, and you simply only like to argue. You saw an opportunity to defend an unpopular side and ran with it. That's because you're a troll. And a moron. And not a real fan. Oh, and now I've officially put you on ignore. You, Cosmo and Al. Three trolls. |
