Game of Thrones *Spoiler* Thread
There's been some recent confusion with the old spoiler thread, so I'm kicking off a new one for tonight's premiere. This is going to be the one for folks who've read all the books. So anything anybody might want to talk about is in bounds. Suffice to say, if you haven't read the books, you'll probably want to stay out of here until you do...
I'll bump the old spoiler-free thread shortly in case anybody's interested. For future reference the link to that one is here |

I agree with you that he's not dead. I really don't have confidence that your last point will remain true for the entire series....

In the past, GRRM has not always described battles, instead he might just refer to the battle and what happened. The prime example of this is when Robb's army takes Jaime Lannister in the Whispering Woods, but we never saw that battle firsthand in the book or on the show. I feel like GRRM has to describe the battles at Winterfell and Mereen in some detail, but I was wondering if he might just refer to the outcome at Storm's End without actually describing the battle. Anyway, long explanation, but that's what I was referring to. I do agree that all these battles won't be able to be shown in any detail on TV, they will really have to pick and choose, especially with the amount of CGI they will have to spend on the dragons. |

You can barely fit the story of 2.5 books into 30 hours of TV. How many movies would they have to make for all 7 books?
I think he has stated he didn't think it was going to be possible to show his story on film until HBO knocked on the door. They can provide quality worthy of the books while not compromising too much in terms of content due to the serial format.

A friend of mine's costume from last night. Tyrion and Daenarys. Be sure to check out his knees... it's kind of subtle in the pic.

Lol, that Tyrion is probably the best costume I've seen all year (in person and the internet). His sword is even midgety. |

That's the same friend who did the Spanola Pepper Company and Dwight Honeycutt for school board videos, by the way.

For what it's worth, the Purple Wedding is in the can.
http://www.uproxx.com/tv/2013/11/nob...ene-last-week/ Nobody Freak Out, But ‘Game Of Thrones’ Filmed A Really Important Scene Last Week BY DANGER GUERRERO / 11.18.13 According to the official Game of Thrones production blog, the show filmed a very important scene last week: the wedding between Joffrey and Margaery, popularly referred to by readers as the Purple Wedding. Here are the behind-the-scenes details: While the ceremony itself was filmed in one of our semi-permanent sets in Belfast, the Sept of Baelor, the reception was filmed in a beautiful outdoor set located in Parc Gradac in Dubrovnik, Croatia. The park was transformed by our new Production Designer, Deb Riley, and her team into everything you might desire from a Royal Wedding carnival, with elaborate decorations, an epic feast and the most creative and unexpected forms of entertainment for the guests. Filmed over a five day stretch, we waited with bated breath each day for the clouds to roll in and dampen our fun. Weather reports suggested imminent downpours at the end of the week, and only a few days before, water funnels had formed off the coast in the height of a rain storm. Aside from one short and dramatic burst where Costume scrambled to get all the extras under cover and everyone rushed to protect props, we were spared the worst of the predictions. In terms of principal cast members in attendance, the Royal Wedding was one of the largest scenes we’ve filmed since the premiere season, with 23 named parts appearing on any given day. In addition, we were delighted to welcome 218 extras as guests to the event, some of them travelling from the other side of Europe and the United States to be a part of the experience. Lookout for some familiar faces in the crowds – Pixie Le Knot is back this year, and one of our crew makes an appearance with the entertainers. If you don’t know why this scene is important, and you, like me, haven’t read the books and are too much of a child to wait for the actual episode to run on television, Google “Purple Wedding.” It’s finally happening, people. Don’t listen to the headline. Feel free to freak out. |
