And the ST coach needs to be fired! He's FAILED at coaching his players to do the right things at the right times. It's tough to believe these kids are this stupid.

It's time for Gary to think about next year, even if the ST gets less stupid, the O-line is just terrible. They play like boys amongst men...

That was Henson. And he called it because he doesn't trust the line. And he shouldn't.

Still, I'd be fine with Henson getting shitcanned this year, but Ricker absolutely has to go.

The man makes Peter Giunta look like Bill Belichick.

They don't have a dedicated special teams coach. Several coaches share duties, chiefly Brian Jones, Cornell Ford, and the LB coach.

I was hesitant to start blaming Henson until I saw what things looked like with an actual QB under center. But he has to take major, major blame at this point. His offense does not utilize the middle of the field enough. His playcalling is suspect (and yeah, the speed option on 1st and 10 from your own 16 needing to run the two-minute drill is indefensible). And the O has regressed drastically since he lost the experienced talent he inherited in Year 1.

AJ Ricker is also a problem. The OL shouldn't be this bad, but whatever he's doing is hurting, not helping.

Overall, I'm still really excited about Drew Lock and the young talent Missouri has in the freshman and sophomore classes. If they can find AVERAGE OL play and get a contribution at RB from Abbington/Doherty/Nate Strong, it has the potential to become a special unit in the next few years.

Lock is going to be really, really good if they can protect for him. That 4th and 17 throw was an AMAZING play. If J'Mon Moore makes an average play on that, it's a conversion and huge pickup.

I don't like how we continue to call plays for Lock that were put in place to cover Mauk's shortcomings. We don't need to constantly shift the pocket with Lock. He's tall enough to see over the line and has good pocket awareness. The last thing we need is to turn him into a spaz in the pocket, but damn it if we aren't trying.

We have an absolute dearth of playmakers this year. I've never even seen anything like this. Even when guys get multiple chances they just refuse to make a big catch or INT, over and over. I hope that reverses with experience in the future.

Also our PR and KR game is as bad as I've seen it be.

I agree with this...Lock will stay in the pocket much moreso than Mauk...none of those pocket shifting plays seemed to work. They just create a harder throw for Lock...hate those plays.

So if Marquise Doherty can't get some playing time with the group of guys in front of him, I guess he's either injured or isn't the talent they thought he was coming in? Because at this point, I'd say the offense needs every single playmaker they can possibly get their hands on...

I feel bad for our defense. They played their asses off, were on the field for most of the game, gave up nine points, and we lost. I blame Ricker and the embarrassingly awful OL.

I'm hoping that Pinkel holds on long enough for Chase to make his way into coaching. Once his NFL career is over, I think he could make a great OC and eventual coach.

Maybe Odom can bring him back as his OC?

Fairly confident either Tom Hermann or Barry odom is the next head coach at Mizzou. Not sure Hermann will still be available at that point, though.

Odom is so good, I think he could have coached last year's MIZZOU basketball team to 15 wins...

Yeah, the Odom gamble looks like it's going to work out extremely well.

The biggest risk we took was the possibility of losing Kuligowski but we seem to have paid him well enough to keep him around for a little while longer.

That's the race I see coming - will Pinkel retire in time for Odom to move into his chair and Kul to get the DC gig before Kul moves on. I suspect he's going to get some nice offers next season after yet another year of this DL playing it's tail off.

The good news is that I don't think we're looking at another Stull or Widenhofer for a very long time. Pinkel has not only rebuild the program, but he appears to have developed a very strong coaching 'tree' that came up in the Missouri program. We'll have some very talented coaching candidates for a long time.
