Lando would have to be CGI.
James Brown would've made a good older version of Lando but He's dead and there hasn't been another since Billy Dee. The "young version of Lando" market is pretty slim Jim.

I don't even want to think about how much fun a young Han Solo film could be, because I could write 5,000 words about it and not sleep for two days.

It could be like an origin story for the greatest comic book character ever. The backstory that exists has him joining the Empire and deserting. Then you have to figure out how he earns a life debt from Chewbacca. Then you have him meeting Lando and acquiring the Falcon. Then you have him eventually falling into Jabba's service, running from Imperials, doing the Kessel run and god knows what else.

The movie would be Star Wars meets Smokey and the Bandit meets The Good, The Bad and The Ugly meets The Godfather.

Good god it's exciting to think about.

I like him but he's a bit too tall & skinny. I'd like to see him in the wig and the pencil stache before I sign-off.

Lando was skinny as ****. And there's a one-inch height difference between BDW and DW.

I'm looking for someone who can own a room when he walk into it, crack a joke and kill the ladies.

Give me a Wayans.

Just drop your voice an octave, please, Damon.

Just on the Star Wars and Marvel properties alone Disney will be banking huge for the next decade...

I'll admit, much better than I expected. As others have said, no to Pratt.

Haven't seen Age of Adeline. As you mentioned in a later post though, he can just try to mimic Ford's Han Solo. In this clip, it looks much to forced. Like he's trying to hard.

There's none of that natural laid back swagger. Something about it makes him look like he's about ready to start bouncing off the walls. Like he's controlling some nervous tic or something. Maybe he needs to talk to Gadzooks before going on camera?

And while his smile actually is a great likeness to Ford's, the constant lip licking, lowered head, and darting eye movement makes it super creepy. If I concentrate, I can hear a young Solo (very impressed with his voice) but when watching I get more of a Joker super villain vibe. There's a hint of Solo in the facial mannerisms, but they just don't land right.

OK, much better than I expected. Still a lot of work to do though. Maybe it is possible though? I don't know if it just requires more practice, downers, and a good director? I guess I'll remain cautiously neutral instead of pessimistic. As you said, some Solo stories would be fantastic.

Watch Age of Adaline. He totally nails it.

Keep in mind that youtube clip is ancient and he wasn't being paid to do it.

I especially like his voice. I'm actually very worried about Pratt as Indy because Ford has a very deep, masculine voice and Pratt doesn't. Ingruber does.

As for Lando...
Yeah, he'd probably be a great choice but I don't know if he carries enough "weight". Billy Dee was quite the Hollywood star when he was chosen to play Lando and I can only assume they'll go for a Michael B. Jordan type of guy if Lando is to appear.

Obviously, this has been in the works for quite some time, as they have a completed script so it won't be surprising if they announce the cast at Comic Con San Diego...

Oh, the other thing of note is that they've publicly stated that this isn't the Josh Trank film, which brings us back to Obi Wan. Unless Kasdan has a much bigger role in the Star Wars Universe than previously indicated (meaning he's writing multiple screenplays and was deeply involved the planning of, well, everything,) it's difficult to imagine Trank directing a Boba Fett film, so I'm still leaning towards what I'd heard 18-24 months ago in terms of an Obi Wan trilogy.

The Han Solo film replaces the Trank film on their release schedule, which means whatever Trank was supposed to direct won't be released for at least two years.

Obi's I think the best character to sell to both the prequel fan base and the OT fans, so it makes sense that they'd go that route.

On an unrelated note I think it finally came out yesterday that Vader is officially part of Rogue One. Not a surprise at all but still noteworthy.

There's no such thing as a "prequel fan base". Any parent who just showed their kids the prequels should be locked in jail for child abuse.
Obi Wan's adventures are fine to sell cartoons but the character's too closely associated to the prequels to deserve a major motion picture spin-off.
Boba Fett, Han Solo & Rougue One are fine. An Obi Wan movie would only stir up bad memories unless he was played by the corpse of Alec Guinness
