But you know what? Had he pulled a Jeff Suppan and had a couple of good playoff performances I could have lived with it. Instead, we lost two games at home against the Astros, and both of them were games Mulder started, including the last game ever played at Busch II, a game I drove over 1000 miles roundtrip to see. He disintegrated.

35 cost-controlled WAR to 1. It's easily the worst Cardinal trade of my life.

I don't blame Kozma for Kozma. He didn't draft himself in the first. He didn't keep promoting himself for no reason apart from draft status. And when he played, he gave it his all....his all just ain't that much.

Tino's "Yankees fans to the front" sent him down a bad path with me and his guaranteed grounder to 2b during any meaningful AB pretty much cinched it.

Mulder melting down in the NLCS because he didn't get a call at 2b plus his "whatever" T-shit and his interview after giving up 7 when he insisted that he didn't make many bad pitches, they just hit all of them. Oh, and the fact that anytime anyone wanted to talk baseball with him, he'd start talking about his golf game. Yeah...dude really wanted to be here.

Ryan "All I know is that when I was the shortstop we were in first place" Theriot. It would've almost been worth losing that World Series just to keep Ryan ****ing Theriot from having a World Series ring.

Tony Cruz combined Kozma's lack of talent with a distinct lack of give a shit. **** him in his stupid, mopey face. How great is it that a dude that accrued 4 full seasons of major league service time here is presently languishing in AAA. He's not even the everyday starter over something called a Parker Morin, which happens to be sporting a 12% CS rate (36 of 41 successful attempts) and a .472 OPS. THAT'S THE GUY HE'S SPLITTING TIME WITH! And he was our unquestioned, unchallenged backup catcher for 4 straight friggen seasons.

Y'know what, I may actually have to move Tony Cruz up that list. From sitting back on his heels to absolutely refusing to present a target to openly pouting and slapping his glove around to catch balls when his pitcher was struggling (and refusing to get off his ass and go to the mound to calm him down) - there's a good chance he's actually my most hated Cardinal.

I always cringed whenever Juan Encarnacion came up to bat or was involved with anything on the field. I couldn't stand Encarnacion.

I remember being 7 years old and watching Terry Pendleton get picked off at 3rd. I think this was against the Reds. I was irritated when he was picked off, but I began hating his guts when he was shown getting up and laughing about it. Hated him ever since. The next year he went to Atlanta and started putting up good numbers there and that added fuel to the fire.

What was the "Yankees fans to the front" stuff about? For some reason, I don't remember that. I do recall him getting a super warm reception from Yankees fans when he returned to New York, but I don't remember the "Yankees fans to the front" component of it... What happened?

Spring training in his first year. At the complex in Jupiter (lots of Yankees fans in Florida) he said "yankees fans to the front of the line" or something to that effect when folks came up for autographs.

I'm sure he was joking, but it's just tone deaf as all **** and then again, almost certainly at least somewhat true.

But we got even when we sent his ass to the hell-hole that is Tampa Bay.

He got booed pretty heavily when he returned to St. Louis, didn't he?

I know it was made clear to not mention relievers, but damn, our entire group of relievers in 2003 was about as awful as I can ever remember it being. Guys like Fassero, Simontachi and Esteban Yan... UGH.... Freaking Fassero. Every time he took the mound I expected something awful to happen.
