The prequels sucked because of George Lucas and Hayden Christensen.

NOT because of Ewan McGregor.

They're ALREADY making a film set between III and IV, so there's no reason not to make others.

While I actually think Hayden is a decent actor when his director isn't a buffoon, you can't do that because there's a stigma associated with him now. In fact, he hasn't gotten ANY work worth spit since Revenge of the Sith. Kinda sad.

Jumper was in 2008 and grossed $228 million worldwide on an $85 million dollar budget.

That said, he's a B movie star and while that might sound derogatory, one could do worse than star in the occasional $10-20 million dollar film.

Eh, stigma or not, he ****ing blew in those movies. Then to see his reeruned ass posted over the original Anakin in the redone DVDs, was the final straw. Their casting of Anakin, or (as easily debatable) their directing of him, was terrible from start to finish.

Speaking of Jake Lloyd, it appears he tried to relive his Pod Racing days:

http://m.tmz.com/#Article/2015/06/21...le-all-the-way

Jake Lloyd, the actor who played the young Anakin Skywalker in "Star Wars: The Phantom Menace," was arrested, TMZ has learned, after an insane car chase that ended when Jake plowed into some trees.

Cops say Lloyd was driving in Charleston, South Carolina, when Sheriff's deputies began pursuing him. The chase was underway and it went on for miles, into another county.

Deputies say Jake began passing cars on the double yellow line and began driving recklessly, at high speeds.

Cops say eventually Jake lost control of his car, which ran off the road, through a fence and into a wooded area where it struck several trees.

The 26-year-old who also starred in "Jingle All the Way" was arrested for reckless driving, failure to stop, resisting arrest and driving without a license.

He's currently in custody.

There are two different kinds of feature films in development at this point: Episode VII-IX and the Anthology series. The Episodes are self-explanatory and are mainly about the Skywalker clan. Anthologies will cover characters such as Boba Fett, Han Solo, Obi-Wan and one off's like the upcoming Rogue One, which will detail the heist of the original Death Star plans.

While the Anthology stories may not be to your liking, there are tens of millions of Star Wars fans anxiously waiting to see tales of their favorite characters on the big screen.

And the EU is dead. Nothing exists in that universe any longer. Everything moving forward is Canon. Everything not the movies or animated series are not.
While I'm as aware of Disney's plans as every other Star Wars geek, and know what is now considered as Canon, the only anthology I know to be set is Rogue One.

It wouldn't make sense for them to spend the time or money on producing movies based on characters where the audience has no routing cause due to the awareness of their ultimate demise.
Spoiler!

George Lucas splooged his wad all over the Anakin vs. Obi-Wan battle in 'Revenge of the Sith' while the audience knew the outcome. That battle signified what we already knew. There was no purpose for these movies. We'd wished away our lives waiting for something we already knew was going to happen.

After wading through Jar Jar, countless trade treaty talks, yoda flipping around, the million man light saber march in a roman Colosseum and midichlorians we were left with nothing but what Obi-Wan had eluded to in "A New Hope".

Disney's first venture into Star Wars is looking to right the ship and give people something to look forward to. The Anthologies should do the same. Rogue One makes sense. Obi-Wan doesn't.

Well, James Horner won't be scoring any Star Wars films. He died tonight in a small engine plane crash.

Ewan was one of the few bright spots, and a fantastic actor.

I give green light.

(Since we are all bashing on the prequels right now) If I were to try and explain how bad the prequels were to someone who had never seen them, all they need to know is Natalie Portman was in them, and she was terrible. The writing was so bad, she couldn't even make it work. How Ewan was able to turn in his performance is beyond me. I would be all over an Obi Wan movie. Especially one set shortly after the fall of the republic and rise of the empire.

Really great Star Wars comic. Wish it was translated but you don't need it.

I keep hearing about how awesome Ewan McGregor was in the prequels...I can't think of ONE moment in all 3 movies where he was great. It's not his fault, he's a great actor, but the prequels were shit on top of shit, and could not be rescued by the likes of McGregor.

I mean it. Tell me what he did that was so great in those turds?
