Chiefs hire Jay Valai to be Defensive quality control.

Doesn't this pretty much confirm that Sutton is staying? You wouldn't hire a defensive coach if you were just about to switch your entire Defensive Staff.

Also, Reid is a ****ing coward without he balls to make the unpopular big move

I doubt he drops Sutton

He couldn’t pull Alex in the second half

He just doesn’t strike me as the type that will ever win it all

If we're keeping Sutton around, at least hire a coach that can teach grown men to ****ing tackle. Pop Warner kids put this team to shame.

Jai alai used to be a very popular spectator sport in this country, with frontons up and down the Eastern seaboard. Presidents watched jai alai with their wives. Ernest Hemingway bragged about getting to hang out with jai alai players. In fact, during World War II he concocted a scheme in which jai alai players would somehow lob grenades down the open hatches of unsuspecting German U-boats. Now, the sport seems like a relic, a vision into the past. It’s vestigial, like an appendix.

But the truth is, this could be the future of any number of sports that are popular today. With a few small twists of fate, in time, this could be baseball or hockey or even football. If rule changes—precipitated by concussions—lead to an erosion of the fan base, football, like jai alai, might one day exist only for the purposes of gambling. It’s not impossible to imagine someone looking back a few generations from now on the hordes of drunken, screaming fans who fill up Cowboys Stadium and tailgate in their jerseys the same way we see those old jai alai patrons, with their suits and bourbon and cigars: anachronisms, ghosts from another time.

I think there's still a good chance Sutton is leaving, one way or the other, and his replacement is on a playoff team's staff. The Chiefs have always been pretty good about keeping things under wraps unless it's a big fish and the national media picks it up. Seriously, what value is a new DC today versus 2 weeks from now? If that is in the works, you can be pretty sure that some of the current staff is going to remain or a new staff has been selected.
Actually, I kind of thought the head coach's job was quality control of the other sub-coach's parts of the team. Does Andy not know enough about football to know quality control? Is he too involved in some other coaches areas to perform that task?

But hey, as long as Andy can have "agreeable" pinochle partners on Saturday night, who gives a ****, right?!?!?
I don't think that Sutton's defensive philosophies and scheme sucks monkey balls. I also don't think he's that creative (not in the sense that Gregg Williams or Zimmer are).

I'm going to wait until I re-watch this season on A22 before ripping into Sutton.

If anyone can settle this definitively, it would be you.

God speed, sir.

They're going to use Dorsey as the scapegoat now and claim that the defense had so little talent that there was nothing they could do.
