Does anyone else think he has been playing pretty lazily early in games this year? Perhaps it has been a scheme thing, perhaps today he was still feeling some illness.. but I typically watch him on 75+% of the snaps and its like he is waiting until the 4th quarter to 'flip the switch'. He shuts down the run for 4 quarters, I am referring only to his pass rush.

He either gets dropped into coverage, or he will rush and give up on it if he doesn't win immediately. Then, the 4th quarter hits and we see the dominant, relentless Justin Houston that he used to be on every down.

Hopefully its just some sort of schematic thing going on. I'm glad he is still having a huge impact nonetheless with 4 sacks thus far, but I can't help but wonder if he is holding back effort. Lets hope that changes because the defense is damn good when he is rolling...

The Steelers had to have averaged over 6 YPC. That's going to stall your pass rush 10/10.

5.5 sacks, 4 in garbage time when the game was already over, and the other offense duckin and chuckin. Most overpayed player on this defense. Never has shown out without Hali raping faces on the other side.

Garbage time.. you mean during the 4th quarter when we're putting the game away?

Is there ever a more important time to make a sack than in the 4th quarter to preserve the lead?

Have you not watched much of the NFL lately? A two score lead in the 4th quarter is no time to get lackadaisical.

We had a two score lead over the Eagles with probably less than 4 minutes left and that one came down to the last play of the game.

ben is throwing from the end zone. That is not the time to have him in pass coverage 30 yards down the field.

I'm not going to pay $22 million for a linebacker to cover a wide receiver/tight end, especially if he's considered one of the best pass rushers/run stopper.

I want his ass on the goddamn line, ears ****ing pinned back, and go after the QB. Not dilly dilly'ing the WR/TE.

Double standard. Smitty went against the #1 pass defense I don't see you cutting him any slack.

J Houston pass rushing skills are overrated... Not a great pass rusher at all. What makes him so good is his all around ability, not his pass rushing skills.
