**** OFFICIAL WalterFootball.com Mock Draft Thread****
He updates his mock drafts usually a couple of times a week.....so I'll post the updated ones when they come out. So far he's at 3 rounds but the 4th round is supposed to come out today.
www.walterfootball.com 01/14/15 18. Devin Smith, WR, Ohio State Once again, zero touchdowns to wide receivers. The Chiefs obviously need help at wideout. Dwayne Bowe is just a No. 2 receiver masquerading as a top target, while none of the other receivers are very skilled, though Albert Wilson showed some promise at the end of the season. The Chiefs might be regretting passing on Kelvin Benjamin. 49. A.J. Cann, G, South Carolina The Chiefs had pass protection issues this past season - only six teams surrendered more sacks - and I doubt Andy Reid will pass on an offensive lineman in the first couple of rounds. 80. Derron Smith, S, Fresno State The Chiefs will need to think about bringing in a new safety, as Eric Berry may not be able to play football ever again, unfortunately. |

crazy thing is, aside form the stupid 2 C's, that's not all that awful overall.
I could live w/ OT collins, but not what i'd prefer I like the 2nd round darby pick don't love hardy, but 3rd round is acceptable, with another WR flyer late admit i'm not too familiar with tull or boyle, but that's my ignorance i do love the QB flyer, actually have hiim on my late round radar too, could be a nice development project for reid/pederson, but seems like more of a 6th/7th round flyer? had to edit, totally missed one Last edited by ct; 04-17-2015 at 10:47 AM.. Charlie Campbell is a writer on Walterfootball.com that does his own mock draft. Here's his latest.
18. La'el Collins, OT/G, LSU The Chiefs' offensive line really struggled in 2014, and their edge protection missed Brandon Albert. If Kansas City drafts a left tackle, the team could move Eric Fisher to the right side, and that could be a better fit for him. Collins was solid in 2014, but not as good as his junior year. He has some potential and flashed heavy hands, but needs to learn technique as he didn't get a lot of movement in the ground game as a senior. For the NFL, Collins would probably be better at guard or right tackle - at least to start out his career - and then his team can see if he develops into a left tackle. Collins had a quality outing versus Florida and handled himself well going against Dante Fowler, but Collins got away with some holds and face-masks that should have been called. Collins was very good in 2013 - better than his senior year - as the left tackle protecting the blind side of Zach Mettenberger. LSU had a lot of success running behind Collins, too. The 6-foot-4, 305-pounder was an impressive power run-blocker in 2012 and helped the Tigers' stable of backs move the ball. He started 13 games at left guard and was an honorable mention All-SEC selection. 49. Denzel Perryman, ILB, Miami The Chiefs could use young talent at inside linebacker. Derrick Johnson turns 33 next year, and the organization could use an upgrade next to him. Perryman is a quick and physical linebacker. The 5-foot-11, 236-pounder provided a lot of good down-and-distance situations for his defense with his prowess to stop the run. Not only is Perryman strong against the run, but he can contribute in zone coverage. Some feel Perryman is limited in the passing game, but other sources think that criticism is unfounded. He looks like he could have three-down ability for the NFL with development. Perryman recorded 110 tackles with 9.5 tackles for a loss, three forced fumbles, five passes batted and an interception in 2014. Perryman was excellent for the Hurricanes in 2013. The junior totaled 108 tackles with five tackles for a loss, one sack and three passes broken up for the year. Perryman notched 64 tackles with six tackles for a loss, two passes broken up, one forced fumble and an interception returned 41 yards for a touchdown in 2012. 80. Anthony Harris, S, Virginia The Chiefs could use some defensive back competition and safety depth. Harris recorded 108 tackles with 10 passes broken up and two interceptions in 2014. He led the nation in interceptions in 2013 with eight. That helped make him one of the bright spots of an ugly season for Virginia. The junior also had 80 tackles with six passes broken up and a forced fumble that year. Harris displayed good instincts to go along with speed and athleticism. 98. Ali Marpet, OT/C, Hobart The Chiefs add a potential starter at center after losing Rodney Hudson in free agency. Division III star Marpet had a breakout Senior Bowl. He got better each practice and held his own against the tougher competition. Marpet was a gritty blocker who showed the strength and athleticism to win his blocks. After a nice week in Mobile, the Hobart product continued his upward climb with his Combine performance. Marpet recorded the fastest 40 times in his class and had an official time of 4.98 seconds. He also moved smoothly in the field drills and showed some natural athleticism. 118. Rashad Greene, WR, Florida State The Chiefs grab a complement for Jeremy Maclin. Greene totaled 99 receptions for 1,365 yards and seven touchdowns in 2014. The 5-foot-11, 182-pounder has great hands and runs good routes, but he is undersized and lacks speed for the next level. Greene was the Seminoles' leading receiver during their championship run in 2013 as he totaled 76 receptions for 1,128 yards and nine touchdowns. As a sophomore, Greene caught 57 passes for 741 yards and six touchdowns. He had 38 catches for 596 yards and seven scores the year before. 172. John Miller, G, Louisville The Chiefs could use multiple offensive linemen to improve their blocking. Miller was a quality blocker for the Cardinals in 2014. He had some struggles with Florida State lineman Eddie Goldman and Mario Edwards Jr. Miller had issues with Georgia, but for the most part, he was reliable in the ground game and in pass protection. Miller helped his stock with a strong performance at the East-West Shrine. 173. Jamison Crowder, WR, Duke The Chiefs continue to improve the speed and play-making ability of their receiving corps. The undersized Crowder (5-8, 185) produced a good 2014 season for the Blue Devils with 85 receptions for 1,044 yards with six touchdowns. He finished the year well with a 100-yard receiving game and a punt return for a touchdown against Arizona State in Duke's bowl game. For the NFL, Crowder is a speedy, slot receiver, but the senior may not have the size to stick at the next level. He had a good showing at the Senior Bowl. As a junior, Crowder made 108 catches for 1,360 yards with eight touchdowns. He had 76 receptions for 1,074 yards and eight scores as a sophomore. 193. Cody Riggs, CB, Notre Dame It wouldn't hurt the Chiefs to add some cornerback depth. 217. Michael Dyer, RB, Louisville The Chiefs grab some running back depth behind Jamaal Charles. |

Jesus Christ
La'el Collins over Randy Gregory. Of course. Quitin Rollins over Eric Rowe. Again, of course. I'd take Hardy, and the rest looks survivable except for the no name QB from NAIA. |

The guy really is clueless. It would take just a few hours of his time to actually read up on what scheme teams run and how they're built. A few hours over the entire length of the goddamn draft season. What a douche. |

Updated. Now with the 7th round.
18. La'el Collins, G/OT, LSU The Chiefs had pass protection issues this past season - only six teams surrendered more sacks - and I doubt Andy Reid will pass on an offensive lineman in the first couple of rounds. Reid loves drafting linemen, and he's getting La'el Collins, who could easily go as high as No. 10. *** OTHER 2015 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: *** 1. Other Tackles - As with the Chargers, the Chiefs could select one of many tackles with their first-round choice. 2. Kevin Johnson, CB - Johnson has been shooting up draft boards recently, and he could be picked here. The Chiefs could address the cornerback position. 49. Quinten Rollins, CB, Miami of Ohio The cornerback position isn't as big of a need for Kansas City as some make it out to be, but better depth is definitely must at the position. 80. Justin Hardy, WR, East Carolina It's amazing that the Chiefs went the entire year without having any of their receivers score a single touchdown. Alex Smith was partly to blame, but the receiving corps was just abysmal. 98. Ibraheim Campbell, S, Northwestern It's unfortunate what happened to Eric Berry, who will hopefully have a swift recovery from cancer. In the meantime, the Chiefs will have to find a new safety. 118. Ben Heeney, LB, Kansas Here's more help for the interior of Kansas City's defense, which took a beating last year in the wake of all the injuries. The inside linebacker position must be addressed. 172. B.J. Finney, C, Kansas State Here's a potential replacement for Rodney Hudson, who signed with the Raiders this offseason. 173. Brandon Bridge, QB, South Alabama The Chiefs could stand to add a young quarterback to groom behind Alex Smith. 193. Josh Harper, WR, Fresno State Despite signing Jeremy Maclin, the Chiefs could look to add multiple receivers in the 2015 NFL Draft. They don't really have anything after Maclin at wideout. 217. Casey Pierce, TE, Kent State The Chiefs lost Anthony Fasano this offseason. He wasn't nearly the same player he once was, but he still happened to be a reliable veteran behind Travis Kelce. 232. Joey Mbu, NT, Houston Dontari Poe's contract expires in a couple of years. He'll be very expensive to keep, so the Chiefs should add a nose tackle as insurance. |
