My favorite cover of all time is Tina Turner doing Proud Mary.

I've never seen that. Love Metallica, hate Fred Durst, but this is a good cover IMO.

Nice. First with the Velvet Underground and then Patti Smith. You know your music.

And that cover of Let's Dance is nice. It gives the lyrics a more heartfelt poetic edge.

Incredibly disappointed that no one's included Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" as interpreted by Jeff Buckley. One of the most beautiful songs of all time.

Don't know if anyone else ever posted it, but Jane's Addiction covering No Sympathy for the Devil:

Warning: hadn't seen the video before... some disturbing imagery and probably NSFW. Kinda Surprised it can be hosted on youtube.

winner. I love all of Deftones covers.

from Sade's 'No Ordinary Love' to Skynards 'Simple Man'. I love hearing that Deftones twist. They do a really good cover of The Cars 'Drive' and Duran Duran's 'nightboat' too.

My personal favorite cover is their version of Jawbox's 'Savory'

Styx, "I Don't Need No Doctor", sung by Lawrence Gowan in a good imitation of Blackie Lawless from WASP, who did their own excellent cover version. Haven't heard the Humble Pie version in a while so I'm not sure how close Lawless's version was to that, or if Humble Pie's was closer to the original Ray Charles version...
