Stanced cars...love 'em or hate 'em?

So what is CP's general opinion about stanced cars? Saw my first well executed one in person today and ......(well I will put my opinion in a post)

So what say you gear heads of CP?

Examples of well executed cars below (there are tons of terrible ones. feel free to post them in the thread)

However, every example you posted is someone going too far. The line between good and bad is thin.

What I like to see is the correct offset rims, right sized tire (little or no stretch/correct dimension) for whatever wheel gap your suspension is set too. Do so you dont have to run way out of camber~

Right:

Wrong:

Except the definition of "stanced" is to have excessive camber on an overly stretched wheel. The cars in the "right" category are simply lowered and IMO look and function the best. Here is exactly how my car sits right now, Id actually like to go a little lower but I doubt I can with out sacrificing drivability.

stance

(verb) - to adjust a car's camber, ride height, and spacing, so that the sidewall of the tire sits as flush as possible with the fender/quarter panel. A common trend and style impersonated on drift and show cars alike, originating from the older Japanese domestic market.

Mega neg camber and super stretched tires are not my idea of a good looking stance, but in general, any lowered/wheel gap negated/high offset car can be considered 'stanced' - I fyou look at my 'right' pictures the rx7 have a good amount of stretch going on, and thats as far as I would go on anything IMO.

Btw, your car looks good

here is my current - an rb25 s14 240sx with the jdm s15 front end conversion~ Lots of offset, no stretch, and a very small amount of negative camber

I think it looks kind of cool on some cars, but it's not really my taste and isn't how I'd choose to customize a car.

It's really not any more over the top than a lot of modifications you see on hot rods/muscle cars. I guess you might argue that those mods are performance based, but there are a lot of them that are more about form than function.

Chalk it up to individual taste. Not my thing, but I'm not going to hate on others for how they invest their passion into their vehicle.

The car pictured is not mine, we just swapped the wheels and tires, I already had the coil overs so it sits the EXACT same. I'm sporting old man silver. Mods? Yes a few, it has an LSX based 427 with mast heads a nasty comp cam . I just pulled the 2.9 Whipple, 800ish to the wheel was just not enough. Twin turbos with a side of nitrous are being installed as I type. Should be well over 1K to the ground and DD'd.

Dad also had a '61 Impala SS convertible, 348 tri-power, 4 gear. 1 of 110 or so. Currently restored & taking turns sitting in high end collectors warehouses/garages. $100k + car.

That being said, I voted awesome, because at least they are doing something mechanical to the car instead of just bolting on a fart can muffler and stupid bi-plane wing.
I lowered my Subaru the right way... but in no way shape or form should my car be considered rice. If you'd like to dissagree we can have a lively disucssion on the matter.

You did say Subaru, correct? It sounds like it is probably pretty nice, and it isn't easy to do it the right way. I know they made some Subarus that can be pretty fast for a 4 banger.

But to me, if it is a Honda, Toyota, Datsun/Nissan, Scion, Acura, Lexus, Infiniti, Mitsubishi or Subaru, it is a rice burner. No insult intended to you, but it is like calling a Pepsi a soda to me.

That’s badass.
Since they didn’t have to notch the frame a regular bed will still fit on it.
