Burger King Thinks Mac N' Cheetos Is Something You Might Eat

Burger King is out of control and doesn’t care who it hurts. Being tested in select markets and soon rolling out nationwide, Mac N’ Cheetos are deep-fried macaroni and cheese sticks with Cheetos breading. To put it in old, worn-out meme terms, they heard you liked cheese, so they put cheese in their cheese. Also macaroni. Whatever. They’re basically Burger King’s answer to Taco Bell’s Doritos Locos Tacos, born of a partnership between BK and Frito-Lay. Unlike the Doritos Locos Tacos, which have become a mainstay of Taco Bell’s menu, the Mac N’ Cheetos are a limited release, lasting eight weeks or while supplies last. That should give people plenty of time to make bad decisions. Speaking to Bloomberg, Burger King North American president (how can a king have a president?) Alex Macedo threatens that this will not be the last collaboration between fast food royalty and big snack chip.

“We’re working on a few other menu items,” Macedo said. “There’s room for us to do more together in the future.”

Snacktaku guess this means it will have to go to Burger King for the first time since those hot dogs came out earlier this year.

I don't see why this is such a crazy idea. Most non-Kraft mac N cheese is baked with a crunchy topping. Buttered panko is my go-to but many use crackers like Ritz. If someone topped it with crushed Cheez-Its or Cheetos, that wouldn't seem nuts. That's essentially what this is.

In theory this could go either way. It sounds kinda bad, but it wouldn't surprise me if something like this was fantastic ... again .... in theory.

In practice, since it's Burger King, you will get served some shit that's been sitting under a bad heat lamp for 2 hours. Every now and then I give BK a chance, and I can't remember the last time I was served fresh food. I think it might have been in the late 80's.

Home made. Grab some boneless/skinless chicken breast. Cube it up. Put dry seasonings, flour and corn meal in one container. Put wet seasonings, egg and milk in the other container. Start with the "dry" until the surface of the chicken piece is thoroughly dried up. Dip it in the "wet" briefly. Go back and forth and repeat until you have a batter built up on each piece, ending with "dry." Now fry them up and set them on paper towels as they come out of the oil.
