It's great you have a strategy, why wait until one minute left? Why not one day or a few hours. I don't care you bid me up, I just don't see any point in waiting until the last minute unless you're trying to piss people off.

I admit I got a little whiny and apologize, just extremely frustrating getting bid up by a dollar in the last minute literally.

Also offer still stands, anyone on my team is available for trade. I don't see this team as a championship caliber so I'm trying to improve as much as I can.

Tambaberry will be very happy with you. Now I can aggressively pursue Kevin Boothe.

I mean next time I bid on Kevin Boothe, I'll bid more than $1.

Provo goes on a signing spree and picks up 5 new players:
Eugene Sims - DE Armon Binns - WR Leroy Hill - WLB Buster Skrine - CB Cameron Bradfield - RT Sims and Binns are instacut. Sorry, gentlemen. Only cut of note is Provo's 7th round rookie draft pick, Coty Sensabaugh. Sorry Coty, just too much middling CB depth on this team. |

I was initially quite irritated with myself for cutting a guy that was clearly valued by a team or two. I'm still annoyed that I let him go when he may have had trade value, but now I realize that he was way overbid. For instance, I just signed Robert Turner to a 1-year deal for $1. Turner started 16 games for the Rams last year and did a pretty nice job of it. He's a plus pass blocker and a passable run blocker; not at all unlike Saturday, really (in fact, he's a significantly better run blocker). And yeah, now that he's in Tennessee he'll probably be a backup in 2013, but who cares? Saturday won't even be in the league. So for 1 year of Turner, a center that is virtually identical in performance to Saturday, I paid $1. Meanwhile Duluth paid $80 for 1 year of Saturday (in fact, only 14 games and a guy that won't be playoff eligible). Must be a locker-room chemistry thing...

The other dynamic is that my team didn't need much. By the time I did some trades and stuff, I really only had a couple of needs, and center was the most glaring. Even at that, I have a long-term center, but he just got hurt last year. I didn't have enough money to bid on the big names and kept getting shut out, so toward the end I had a fair amount of money and still desperately needed a short-term center.
