Andy Reids quarterbacks had 616 pass attempts last year. In the last two seasons, Matt Cassel had 546 pass attempts and took 41 sacks. |

Taking a sack is different than collapsing onto the ground in fear or losing the handle on the football.

If he took that many sacks, can the line really be called the best in the NFL? Or were all those sacks Smith's fault?

I do worry about the times he was sacked behind that line. Ours isn't going to be near that good, added with the fact that he's going to throw it alot more.

That's more than Matt Cassel. He gets sacked more than Matt. He fumbles more than Matt. He throws for fewer yards and fewer TDs than Matt. What's not to like?

It's interesting, because the projection is that Geno Smith and maybe one QB will be off the board in the early first, but then nobody will be taken until the second. Possible that after Geno is picked, the next QB doesn't get picked for ages. I'd be okay if we ended up with Barkley or Tyler Wilson or EJ Manuel out of the Albert trade. |

Hopefully Reid gets Smith out of the propensity for the sacks. Get the ball out quick to Bowe and Charles and let them do what they do.

The 49ers don't have the best offensive line in the NFL.
