And that's just the beginning of the bloodbath. Up to 100 ESPNers are expected to be axed, including a lot of on-air folks. So consider this the ESPN Layoffs Megathread to track all the victims.

Dilfer was actually, much to my surprise, pretty much the only guy that I can remember that would call out coaches, teams, players, for dumb decisions / playcalls etc.

I can't cite a specific exapmle, but I just remember watching him and being surprised at how blunt he could be on a subject that would typically be danced around with kid gloves.

It's gonna be hilarious to see ESPN's new lineup after all the layoffs take place. Just a bunch of pretty faces with no substance. perfect for today's viewership / their market share.

Russillo is a big NBA guy but he does it too. Naturally on a smaller platform, but he was very much the antithesis of Stephen A Smith.

when i drove a truck over the road, i actually enjoyed listening to R & K almost every day.
Lebetard is pretty awful but could be funny here or there.

So why wasn't ESPN affected in 2003 when they hired and then fired Rush Limbaugh for Sunday NFL Countdown?

If having a "political agenda" is to blame for ESPN's current problems, why didn't it cause similar financial problems in 2003?

from what I read this isnt Disneys decision its entirely ESPNs/John Skippers decision to re-tool/re-brand/whatever the hell direction nobody has a clue they want to go in
