Now that it's been repaired, there shouldn't be an issue. When was the last time an NFL player had a failed ACL repair? |

Having confidence in a surgically repaired knee is gonna take a little time. I doubt there's an actual issue, but mentally, it's not easy to come back from

Good thing Houston's primary pass rush move is the bull rush. Don't think he'll be worried about pushing OL to the QB's lap since he'll be doing it in a straight line.

In 2014 he closed out with at least one sack in the final 6 games and had 10 total. Last year, he was starting to hit stride right before his injury. If anything I think Houston is one of those guys who doesn't wear down so much as the year goes along, giving him advantages late in the year. |

We won't see Houston until mid-season.

You have less reason to believe this than the people who believe he'll be back very early in the season, if not the beginning

I would say the most likely scenario is after the bye week. That gives Houston an additional month+ to get his legs back underneath him. No reason to rush him back unless he is truly ready to roll. I'd rather have him for W16 than W1.

Yes, they did their surgeries a couple months before Houston did, but they had a far more grueling recovery process, too. Houston may not be participating in organized offseason activities, and he probably won't be doing much in training camp, but every step he takes in his team workout regimen is monitored by a strength and conditioning trainer and coach. They're not in the business of saying, "He's 100%, but eh... give him another 2 weeks. Don't want to rush it." If he's healthy and ready to play, he's going to play. Period. |

7 month timeframe from his surgery to the opener. I think that he will play week 1, but on certain situations.
I think they'll ease him back the first month. 10 snaps week 1, 15 snaps week 2, 20 snaps week 3, etc. Mostly obvious passing downs.

To be fair to DJ and Devito, they had surgery mid September of 2014. They essentially had a full year to be ready to roll, even though they were by training camp. Houston has 7 months from surgery to week one. That's a big difference even though the injuries aren't the same. I just want them to not dick this up. He's our diamond investment on the roster right now and I'd like to see him back at 100% soon, whether it's week 1, 5, 12 or so on. |
