And what leads you to believe this? Do you think Murray or Hogan will be ready to not only take over-but at least be as good as Alex passing and running the ball? Doubtful. So we are going to draft a QB and turn 2017 over to a Rookie? Bring in a retreads and hope they learn the offense?

Alex will be here as long as Andy is.

What makes you think they won't be ready? By all accounts they are both really smart. Andy is already masturbating to how much Hogan knows. And it's not like they are replacing Tom Brady.

The Starting QB is given the win or loss-so it Has to be part of the discussion.

I guess you are saying the Chiefs have not been rebuilding since Andy came here. This team was a mess, especially at QB.

So Bortles had some good stats-big deal. He has not taken two different teams to the playoffs yet. He has not done anything yet. That was my point. All that matters is winning. He could regress and be done in a year or two-while Alex will still be our QB, winning games and hopefully more playoff games.
Let me start by saying, you're an idiot.

Your first question is ****ing stupid. Why? Because you're an idiot. That was never said in my post. I said it was ****ing stupid to dismiss Bortles because he didn't will a team with a bad line and no D to the playoffs in his srcond season.

Also no, the Chiefs weren't rebuilding when Andy got here. The team was pretty solid, but had a reeruned ass coach/GM and dog shit at QB. The 2012 Chiefs are the blueprint to "If you Don't have a QB, you don't have shit"

If the Chiefs were a squad in need of a rebuild, Andy Reid takes the job in Arizona instead.

Also your last paragraph is reeruned projecting. My post was all about your complete dismissal of Bortles because of your dumb **** metric.

If this team is as stacked with talent as it looks like it might be for the next few years-I just don't see the Chiefs deviating from what they have ALWAYS done. They want Wins and butts in the seats. Risking it on a rookie QB over a proven commodity like Alex-seems incredibly unlikely.

Barring injury-if Alex has another descent year including a playoff win- the chance of them yanking him in favor of a rookie is zero imo.

No QB on the roster would be a rookie, they would be 1st year starters.

Wow look at you with your Bortles panties in a bunch-because of stating a Playoff win by Alex over QB's that don't have one should be in the discussion.

Obviously the Players that voted on the Top 100 must think winning is part of the equation-which is what Alex did last year-10 in a row. My guess is they know more than an ignorant troll like you. That is great that you love Bortles so much that you come running to his defense when you think I was slamming him- but like I said he had a great year so what? Jags suck and so do you.

They had some good players, but they've turned over all but like 6 players on the roster in 2012. Turnover is pretty normal, but that's alot out the door

In 2013, the Dorsey cut 19 players from the former regime. That's 35% of the roster.

In 2014, he cut Brandon Flowers and allowed Jon Asamoah, Tyson Jackson, Kendrick Lewis, Jerrell Powe, Dexter McCluster and Brandon Albert to walk.

That's a 49% roster turnover from January 2013 to August 2014.

I'd say that's a rebuild.

What does Smith do that any other QB cannot do specifically?

He's not asked to make challenging throws, there isn't a lot of pre snap motion which requires micromanagement from the signal caller, and he obviously isn't a field general type of guy a la Peyton Manning.

He can run the ball well, which separates him from a good number of other starters, but only when he doesn't see a receiver open (or it's a hail Mary situation) and Reid never takes full advantage of his abilities with the occasional bootleg. If Jake Plummer could make defenses look foolish with a play call that seemed telegraphed much of the time, why can't the ostensibly superior QB in Smith do so as well?

Runs the offense pretty well I'd say, especially as the year went on last year.

They run Reid's version of a spread WCO. He may not be asked to throw it downfield alot like the Perkins downfield system but I'd say he's asked to make some challenging throws.

Alex makes some pretty challenging throws each game and does an above average job of putting the ball where only his receivers can make the catch.

Travis Kelce wasn't a Pro Bowl tight end because Alex couldn't make throws. Maclin had more than 1,000 yards last season, too.

If the Chiefs have two legitimate WR's to go along with Kelce this year, Alex has a chance to put up the best numbers of his career.

Here is a nice Bortles article talking about their Red Zone offense that ranked in the bottom of the league.

http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/news...nfl/ar-BBrsiis

More opinions on Bortles.

I'd prefer more protection.

He had his best year last year with ASS as an offensive line.

By ass I mean 3 (starting) players drafted in the 4th round our lower.

Tardiff was not supposed to play last year. The whole point was him being a developmental project.

Right now I want to verbally rape the OL for just how consistently terrible it was but that's not the point. The point is how impressive Smith was despite that HORRIBLE O line.

He put up his best season DESPITE our O line being complete ass...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

The addition of Schwartz, as well as Year 2 for Morse and LDT, should help considerably.
