First fourth quarter pre-season completion from Murray to Conley will have 1/3 of this board claiming KC has found its next Montana/Rice.

Avery's 31 years old and rarely, if ever, made it through a season with injury. It was definitely time to move on from him. That said, it wouldn't take much to be "better" than Avery, a guy that produced an average of 475 yards and 2.3 TD's per season over 6 years. |

By the same logic, Wes Welker before 2014 was a very good WR but also a butterfingered bitch because of what happened during the playoffs in New England. Yet nobody was going around saying his hands were suspect, or that "his drops always occur at the worst times!" |

Because Avery has history. Those averages include years spent on shitty Rams and Titans teams while dealing with injuries. In the one season he had a decent NFL caliber QB throwing him passes, he put up almost 800 yards which would make him a great #3 option and serviceable #2 in a pinch. Avery went for over 600 yards in his rookie year. If Wilson had done that here you guys would be crowning him a future HOFer. Do you see the fault in such premature claims? So, again, Avery is bigger, just as fast, had a better rookie campaign, has shown the ability to produce at the NFL level, and has actually caught a TD pass. At this point in time, you look like a real jackass claiming Wilson is the superior player. |

Add to that, a career is a marathon, not a sprint. Albert Wilson has all the tools to easily put together 500 yard seasons, it's just a matter of whether or not he can stay healthy, something that plagued Avery his entire career. |

I don't see why he can't get 600 yards and a few TD's this year.

Dude, if two mother****ers weigh the same and one is taller, the taller one is bigger. I find it funny that you mention Wilson's ankle sprain as an excuse when you just averaged Avery's career numbers including the years in which he was dealing with injuries. You're also saying Wilson could potentially put together some 500 yard seasons, which would put him right in line with Avery's average yardage per season that you just lambasted? They're both small, speedy WRs with injury concerns. One is still learning the game while the other has shown NFL production over a relatively lengthy career.. And the guy that's not shown sustained production is the better player? He may well end up being better, but as of now you can't make that determination. |
