What's my problem with him? The same problem I have with all of the guys that start for the Chiefs but would be backups on any other team...

I don't get your point here. Mediocre and shitty players can have big games, even in big settings like the playoffs. They're still mediocre and shitty players. Big games, and even big games at key times, is not something reserved only for the elite.

so what's the problem then?

SS - Abdullah
FS - Commings
Falcon/LBer/Whatever the hell he does- Berry

The Chiefs still have absolutely NOBODY behind these guys. Abdullah as a 4th safety last year+special teams logged 200+ snaps. We currently have NOBODY to fill that void. So it's either going to be veteran FA like Manning, draft pick or UDFA. So if you go the latter you are asking inexperience to pair with more inexperience.

There is no depth on this team, they need any bodies they can get.

we play 3 safeties almost 40-50 percent of the time anyway and you are basically now asking Abdullah to not only stop playing special teams but become a full time starter and log over 700+ snaps in a 16 game season (Kendrick Lewis last season had 1000 at safety for the Chiefs.) Can Abdullah or Commings log 1000 snaps and do it consistently? Is the question. I say no.

I'd think you put berry in the fs more important role and try and fill the others.

there are people on here that have been asking, begging, dreaming, hoping that Berry would be put in FS by the Chiefs since his rookie season and it never happened, so why would it just happen now. Fat Scott/Romeo/That old zombie Kiffin ruined Berry at Tennessee with that bullshit position. He should be a FS exactly like Earl Thomas. The fact that he's not is a joke. That idea is definitely gone.

They did it a lot in the playoff game, so we may not want that

I was just referencing your statement that Abdullah wouldn't start anywhere else. He's solid average safety.

The problem is, we don't have a LBer athletic enough to cover HBs, TEs, slot WRs like the good defenses, so our only athletic safety who is as big as a LBer has to do all the ****ing the work

Maybe if they stop acquiring Akeem Jordans and shitty Joe Mays scrap heap players and bust Alabama LBers or UDFA murderers, and actually draft an athletic LBer in the early rounds. We could move Berry in a free safety zone.

I'd rather have Jackson than all these scrub FAs excluding Walker. I like him.

I think another ilb who is athletic would solve some safety issues.

He still has some proving to do no doubt, and I would've loved to have seen a move made in free agency that really put the competition screws to him... but I don't see him as a huge liability at SS, either.

He strikes me as a decent thumper with softer than normal hands, whats more, he atleast SEEMS happy to be here. Frankly, I'm sick of these guys who never want to take a shot here, if NY or Texas offers them $50 more they're gone, **** them... we're like the new Green Bay... tons of potential for greatness (nice stadium, killer atmosphere/fans, new coach driven to win) but are viewed as a backwater where careers and glory go to die by many players.

Dorsey/Reid need that Reggie White-type signing to break the spell... but that doesn't change the fact that we could do a lot worse than Abdullah at SS.
