If the Chiefs don't win this game they really should forget the playoffs.

10 days to prepare for a desperate team. Should be good.

Yeah...I dunno... I worry about these types of games. KC should win and win handily, even if the defense has to score all the points as well as play defense. But if history is any indicator, KC could come out flat.
It's my hope that the new staff/regime instills a killer instinct and they come out and do what they should do. Will the Giants win? Maybe...I can see it happening.

Im much more worried that this is the Week Eli and his offense get it in gear after being so badly embarrassed. If the Chiefs lose, it won't be because they played poorly, but because NYG played much better than anticipated. |

For once in my Chiefs fandom, i'm not worried about all of that old, ugly history creeping up on us again... it reeeally does feel like a brand new team to me, not that this particular game doesnt worry me, a prideful and wounded recent champ coming to town is always a cause for concern.
But i just get the sense that Clark cleaned house so completely this time, and replaced them with such highly competent people, that its an honest new mood in that lockerroom. Throw in the fact that our core players on both sides have repeatedly stated how sick they are of the losing ways and it tells me that these guys have bought in heart and soul to this new program, Clark sent them a winner and they have decided as a group to take advantage of it. The unspoken X factor, IMO, is what the Belcher situation did to this team... a tragedy like that tends to unite people of any stripe, on any kind of team, business or otherwise... in short, this core group of leaders have been through some honest to God FIRES together, historic losing streaks, murder-suicides... i honestly believe all of those experiences have galvanized our leadership. That doesnt mean its gonna be a cakewalk from here on, or that we're guaranteed a win against NY... but this current team will probably never, ever crumple and fold like all of those past teams. This is a true "new day" |
