That's stupid.

This wasn't an automatic cut that came from missing the deadline - the Bronco's had to actively cut Dumervil. They elected to cut him because they couldn't get the fax back on time and didn't want to take the risk of having the deal guaranteed.

WTF are they going to challenge, exactly? If they were going to pull that stunt, they'd have needed to keep him on the original deal and try to have the new contract given retroactive effect.

There's simply no way they'll be able to convince the NFL to 'uncut' a guy that they took proactive steps to release. And there's no goddamn way they'll avoid the cap hit; the rest of the NFL would lose their collective minds if the Broncos got out from under what they acknowledge was player-friendly contract without having to deal with the dead money.

Some 'writers' don't think before they speak.
