This thread contains all of the B.S. Manning threads from the last few days...

Come on guys...this was a great win for this team. Granted, the D still needs some work and we could use some more playmakers, but overall its better than last years squad. Our D got Shredded by Peyton Manning. Hes this generation's Dan Marino. He does that to about every other team in the NFL. Its not like we just got killed by Kyle Boller or anything.......Give Manning some credit too.

Carr is good, but he's not worth a huge contract and a #1. No chance in hell.

It's supply and demand. It is a big deal to lose him, he's a good player, but why would you spend the #1 to get him and give him a big contract when there's other, cheaper alternatives and the play drop off isn't that great.

I think Carr has plenty of contractual value to another team. Someone will pay him. What I don't think is a team is going to pay him, and then give him a #1 on top of it.

They may be able to get a 2nd or 3rd for him if they tag him.

I basically said that same exact thing a couple days ago, TBG.

I was just flipping ya some shit on the 0% thing because that's what chance you gave Al Saunders for ever coming here to work for the hunts again and a few days later he was interviewing for the OC spot.

You gotta think something is gonna happen. With all the smoke coming down and out about a qb change, I don't see how Matt is ran out there again next year as the starter.

Nope. Nothing. I said this in a prior thread, but I get a lot of coaching info, not a ton of FA info. I can usually squeeze some draft info out mid April.

The more realistic question is:

RGIII and lose 3 1st round picks

vs.

Payton and keep 3 1st round picks

I think that's what it's going to take for us to move up that far.

If the Chiefs move up, it will be a player/pick trade.

Our commodity is that we can give a Dorsey up, or Breaston, or Carr if we franchise him, + plus picks.

We don't have to trade the farm draft-wise if we can move players with the picks.

Either way, it will be a Kings ransom for RG3. But hell, Atlanta moved up from 27 to 6 or something for Jones last year and gave 5 picks up. Pioli even told Dimitrioff he would do it the night before the draft (source: that War Room book).

As long as we are dreaming, why not get Manning AND RG3?

I'm taking Peyton.

I'll take veteran expertise and experience that Peyton provides to the Chiefs right now.

I don't see a young QB coming in and doing the things Peyton could do for the team right now.

With that being said, Peyton gives the team the best chance to win now. which is all that matters.

I would only take RGIII if the Chiefs were in a rebuilding stage but in this case they're not. They are ready to compete and win it now. Give me the veteran.

Yep.

Given the PLAUSIBLE scenarios, I'd take Manning because I don't see any way in hell we're getting RG3.
