What kind of name is Vogelsong-oh yeah he is from San. Fran.
Giants have some odd names on their roster. Posey, Panik, Pence, Belt, Susac, Vogelsong, Lincecum? You don't see names like that very often. |

Ive been wondering (dont follow anyone else besides KC), why did Lincecum lose his spot in the starting rotation? I thought he was one of the best pitchers in the league the last few years.

he lost about 4 MPH in velocity
easiest way to explain it is this: Wade Davis as a starter. Wade Davis as a reliever. |

He was never a control guy. When he lost his velocity his lack of control was exposed.

cliff claven factoid:
the letter V in german is pronounced exactly like we pronounce the letter F in english so it is pronounced: Fogelsong

My professor was lecturing about Max Weber in a class the other day. Blew my mind when he kept pronouncing it as Max Veber. My thought is when we beat them in WW2 then they should have to pronounce the letters like we do. We never do after war good. |

Vogelsong is still 4.00 guy who struck out 3 times as many batters as he walked this year. In fact, his numbers are virtually identical to Vargas' numbers this year. It's not like he is some guy they called in off a tractor to pitch in the world series.
