How many times did I need to see the same hallway? FFS I thought my internet crashed during one scene. They held the camera on a long hallway view for like, 30 seconds.

They had a good idea but it just did not deliver. Not the worst movie I've seen but not deserving of so many awards, either.
Just perfect!

I was really looking forward to seeing this. But with dialog like-"she looks like she licked a bums anus" and "truth or dare" it was terrible.

It really took 4 people to write this POS? And they gave them the highest honor in the country for it?

It never went anywhere, was completely over-acted, the directing shots seemed like they were trying to rip off Good Fellows.

Fox Catcher was a boring "highly acclaimed" film that sucked-but it was 10 times better than this Birdman pos.

****ing Horrible- and since it beat American Sniper-makes it the joke of the century.

Winner for Best Director, Best writing, Best Movie- I am shocked it was this bad. It made me want to shoot my own nose off.

It is called a joke. Because yes, I believe everyone is going around smelling their own farts. But I love your comeback as it is the adult version of "I know you are but what am I".

First of all, Foxcatcher was incredible, too. It was intentionally slow, methodical. Did you not see this as the method to build tension, suspense, or drive the storyline? It was purposeful in its simplicity and slow-moving character arc. Brilliant.

American Sniper - while I enjoyed the film - was nothing special. Bradley Cooper did what any B list actor could have done. He tried out a Texan accent and held his breath a time or two - THAT was the depth of this movie. The morality of having to pull the trigger is implied every step of the way, which I thought pandered to the masses. I didn't learn anything, I wasn't in awe or amazed by anything. In all honesty, I thought that story was waaaay slower than Foxcatcher - he goes to war, comes back, goes to war, comes back, etc. etc. etc. Not the height of excitement.

Birdman is what it is - it's transcendent of films you or I are familiar with. It was groundbreaking, both in scene and score, and was very deserving of the awards it received.

I grabbed a copy and watched it on DVD. I thought it was great, it kept me riveted for the entire movie.

Birdman - you're too stupid to get it.

I don't know that it was "transcendent" as much as it was a film industry circle jerk. Which is fine but I just wish they'd admit that it is the film industry circle jerk that it is so I could make an informed decision and keep those two hours of my life.

I really enjoyed this. Not sure if it is worth best picture, if only because the Oscars love anything that has to do with "the art." Atleast boyhood didnt win.
