I just want to thank staylor26 for taking EZ-E because I was about to reluctantly pull the trigger so fast because he's a top 3 player in this draft to me, and I wasn't going to be able pass on that value. So, with your help I will make the right call here and go:
Houston Texans select Corey Coleman, WR, Baylor We've already invested heavily in Brock (a questionable amount really) and we can't afford to let him fail. So, in order to maximize this offense's potential, we're going to add one of the best playmakers in the draft to go with Lamar and Deandre. There is a lot of concerns for Coco and his lack of route-running experience, but Hopkins didn't start running actual routes until this past year and he's worked out pretty well so far. the 4.3 40 he just ran seals it for us, he's staying in Texas. |

I would never take a rb in the first round. A great rb does nothing for me.

I agree that you don't just take any RB in the 1st, but prospects like Gurley/Elliot are absolutely worth a 1st round pick. You don't think Charles or AP in their prime are worth a 1st? Elliot is a top 10 prospect in this draft and a steal at 21. |

I love Charles just as much as everyone else but it's been proven you can win without a stud rb. Look at the past super bowl winners, how many have had stud rbs?

Not needing a great one to win the SB doesn't mean a great one can't help you achieve that goal. Look at Marshawn Lynch, was he worthless to the Seahawks? Or a key piece? |

Outside of Lynch, there hasn't been too many "studs", but I believe that it's become evident that a strong running game is important to the success for most of the recent SB teams. The easiest way to get a strong running game is to get a stud running back.

And on the topic of Elliott:
I usually don't care about RBs in the 1st round....but Elliott does all three aspects well. He can run, block AND catch. He can be in the game on all 3 downs....therefor he's worthy of a 1st round pick. I honestly would have taken him with the Colts pick. Gore is done and you can always grab an OT in the 2nd and 3rd rounds to protect Luck. |
