The announcement:
http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment...ork-announces/ I'll keep the OP updated with news. And let the countdown clock to May 4 at 8 p.m. officially begin! Fox's 24: Live Another Day is reassembling Kiefer Sutherland's rogue agent, his trusty sidekick Chloe (Mary Lynn Rajskub), his onetime love Audrey Heller (Kim Raver) and her dad (William Devane), who's now president. The ninth season of the show is set four years after the eighth, with Jack still in exile, and this time, he and Chloe are "pitted against each other," Sutherland says. Jack remains on the run, "not quite Osama bin Laden but a fugitive of high order," says producer Manny Coto. "When he resurfaces, we will learn he has a mission, whether it's good or bad we don't know, but they're hunting him." He reconnects with Chloe, who has "turned against the government; (she's) more a radical Snowden-type character," he says. With another hot-button issue — drone strikes — factored in, events will "launch the series into what will be a large tableaux set in London for some crazy events." Executive producer Howard Gordon says the setting in London, where the show will begin filming later this month, was critical in highlighting the exiled state of its hero. "We found a place emotionally to locate Jack, physically to locate jack, and Chloe — who is not his trusty sidekick — someone who is damaged, has joined the free-information movement." Rajskub says she "never thought 24 would come back and I never thought it would come back in this format. I just gotten away from (people) yelling out 'Chloe!' and I'm ready for it to start back up again." Writing 24-episode seasons was "a marathon, it was really, really punishing," Gordon says. The new 12-episode plan is liberating. But the format remains the same: Though the season will still take place in real time over the course of a single day, but fewer episodes will allow writers to sometimes jump forward a couple of hours between them. Producers say, only half-jokingly, that they sometimes need Wikipedia to remember what they've written. When they thought of reviving Devane's character and making him president, "we all thought he was dead," Coto says. (That would be Gregory Itzin's President Logan.) Whither the long-discussed 24 movie? Though a script has been written, it never received a greenlight. "If this ends up rebooting the show or causing a film to be made, so be it," Sutherland says. But "right now we're focused on these episodes." Yvonne Strahovski (from Dexter) is the CIA agent tracking down Jack Last edited by BigRedChief; 02-03-2014 at 07:25 PM.. |

I am not going to be a happy camper after the next episode and then I have to wait for almost a year for another season of 24...**** whoever thought it was a good idea to make this a 12 episode season instead of 24 episodes.

Last week I finished binge watching all 192 episodes from the first 8 seasons. It took me about a month. Then I watched the first 10 episodes of this season. Each episode lasts about 42 minutes, so I have literally spent over 140 hours watching 24 over the last month.
I never watched the show when it originally ran because I thought the premise of spending an entire season watching a single day sounded pretty stupid to me. I was wrong. My guess is that next week Yvonne Strahovski will die, and Jack will be once again either be exiled or captured by a foreign country. I just hope that ****ing Tate Donovan doesn't wind up with Audrey. I hope she finds out exactly what he did. |

By the way, I just can't see a 24 movie being any good. What will they call it? 2?

I'm pretty sure that they said no movie. This series is in lieu of a film. I'm not sure if there's been an official announcement on a 10th season. This finale could be it.

The only way an 11th season is impossible is if they kill Jack. I really don't think they will do that.

WELLLLL Jack says its a possibility. There was a script written.
http://www.eonline.com/news/498753/k...ve-another-day When asked if the plot for the 12-episode miniseries, which is set in London and will premiere in May, is similar to the original idea for the film, Sutherland revealed, "The script for the film was very, very different. The film's an ongoing situation. There's always an opportunity to do that, but Howard came up with an idea of a 12-episode run of this and it was an opportunity that presented itself to us first. It was a fantastic idea…if this ends up rebooting the show or causing a film to be made, so be it."

I hope so. Update it to 2015. Some of the series is kind of meh, been there done that. It's still great TV, just not original. That is always the hard part, faithful to the original but updating the format/series.

As much as I hate to admit it. 12 eps is probably perfect too. Less filler that way.
